Republican Group: Nancy Pelosi Should Be 'Put In Her Place' »
Posted By TimALoftis 2 months, 4 weeks ago in Political OpinionIn the two days since the National Republican Congressional Committee said that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) should be "put in her place" for her comments on Afghanistan, not a single Republican female lawmaker has weighed in on the matter.
The Huffington Post on Wednesday contacted fifteen female lawmakers (fourteen from the House or Representatives) as well as two Republican women's issues groups to see if they were concerned by the sexist undertone of the statement. Not a single office offered to provide a statement. Several said they would not comment on the matter. Others promised to get back to us and didn't. So, on Thursday, we tried again, making follow-up calls to those very same offices. Again, there was silence.

Republicans don't have to worry about putting Nancy Pelosi "in her place," the Speaker told reporters Thursday: She's already there.
"I'm in my place," Pelosi said at her weekly press conference, responding for the first time to a Tuesday statement from the National Republican Congressional Committee that suggested she be muzzled for daring to voice House concerns about possible troop escalation in Afghanistan. "I'm the Speaker of the House, the first woman Speaker of the House and I'm in my place because the House of Representatives voted me there." -

The Rpugs are paranoid because they have lost everything they had and now they are trying to gain some lost ground by accusing the Dems. Their main target is Obama, for the Repugs the president should resign and just hands over the presidency to someone who supports the policies of the Repugs.

It was definately not the most politically correct thing to say of course, but Pelosi should speak for the WHOLE House. Going around shouting out your personal opinions is NOT doing your job. You represent ALL of the House and your comments should reflect that and that only. After seeing her speeches and actions, she is not the right person for the job.
