In the two days since the National Republican Congressional Committee said that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) should be "put in her place" for her comments on Afghanistan, not a single Republican female lawmaker has weighed in on the matter.

The Huffington Post on Wednesday contacted fifteen female lawmakers (fourteen from the House or Representatives) as well as two Republican women's issues groups to see if they were concerned by the sexist undertone of the statement. Not a single office offered to provide a statement. Several said they would not comment on the matter. Others promised to get back to us and didn't. So, on Thursday, we tried again, making follow-up calls to those very same offices. Again, there was silence.

Next November she'll be in her place and it won't be as the speaker of the house.

We old feminazis used to have a saying: A woman's place is in the House and also in the Senate. :-)

The Rpugs are paranoid because they have lost everything they had and now they are trying to gain some lost ground by accusing the Dems. Their main target is Obama, for the Repugs the president should resign and just hands over the presidency to someone who supports the policies of the Repugs.

I'm sure many of these Republicans think women should be barefoot and pregnant and doing kitchen duty with the occasional act of procreation. Doesn't work that way anymore and I'm damn glad it doesn't.

You have to admire the Republicans for being able to do one thing, right or wrong they walk in lockstep, all of them. No room for intelligent discovery only follow, sheep as it were.

Where are all the Republicans who were screaming about how feminist they were because of their choice of Sarah Palin? Shouldn't they be shouting down these sexist pigs?

It was definately not the most politically correct thing to say of course, but Pelosi should speak for the WHOLE House. Going around shouting out your personal opinions is NOT doing your job. You represent ALL of the House and your comments should reflect that and that only. After seeing her speeches and actions, she is not the right person for the job.
