Among all of man's possessions, the most precious is life. Not even the world itself, is worth losing one's life for. As the Lord Jesus Christ Himself says, , “Does a person gain anything if he wins the whole world but loses his life? Pf course not!” (Mk. 8:36, Today’s English Versaion). Indeed, what use are the things in this world – the material possesssions, lofty positions, power, and influence – for a person who no longer has life?
