Chess is a thinking game. It is a fair game in that the player is responsible for the fate of the game and there is no other thing intervention in the game either in the form of luck or in the form of chance. Chess is a good game that forces people to try and think clearly. The deeper you get into it the more you have to think about while playing. The strategy and tactics get deeper and deeper the more you understand the game.

Men are better at it then women because of the way that the different sexes brains are wired. Men have the ability to concentrate on a single thing and block out the world and women don't. That is why we will never have a woman world champion. Absolutely all top level Grandmasters are all men.

I agree that chess is a great game, for children as a development tool and for us older people to keep that "coco" brian of ours sharpe.

This father plays a Financial game with his kids to teach them not just math, but reading, and financial understanding: http://money-and-kids.blogspot.com .

I think it's a great idea as well.
