'Daily Show' Destroys CNN For Fact-Checking 'SNL' Instead Of Their Guests (VIDEO) »
Posted By bluetexasvalley 1 month, 2 weeks ago in HumorJon Stewart began his show last night by skewering CNN for fact checking a "Saturday Night Live" skit in which Fred Armisen (playing Barack Obama) claimed to have done "nothing" since taking office. In this hard hitting report, CNN found that while many of the president's initiatives have not moved forward, he has in fact done "something" since taking office. Take that, comedy show.

"While you were doing your research did you also find that sharks live in water and don't deliver candy grams...and that the majority of boxes do not have d*cks in them?" Stewart asked. He went on to show several instances of CNN guests saying spurious things and introducing made-up statistics without being asked where their numbers came from or countered with facts. -

This is a well to the point article. Thanks you for posting it. And if you are like me you usually go on to read some of the other articles posted at the site, especially those that go along with the context of this article.
If any of you missed the over weight baby denied insurance or the Opt-Out compromise story, be sure to go back and read them.
What we need is an option to what we have. I think the most protective of we the people would be a public option to compete with Insurance Companies for one reason if nothing else:
The Insurance Companies would have to give us a better deal than the Public Option to continue to exist. YOu can bet that they want to continue to exist because of the obscene profits they have been pulling in. That's why the the Insurance Companies and their Lobbyists have been as active as a stirred up hornet's nest spreading hundreds of millions of dollars into Media ads to try to scare the people into turning off the Public Option.
Looks like they are going to be successful.
Why we realize we have been stupid, do you think we will try to blame the bought Politicians or will we realistically blame ourselves?
As I said on another thread this morning, there is a real price for doing nothing, a lessor price for doing good reform and a highest price for turning down the best deal - Public Option.-

The best deal can be had by simply supporting Medicare for All, HR 676 and S 703.

I think this is a good example of a big difference between liberals and conservatives (to use the team names). I am guessing that if you asked the average conservative the response would be that the Daily show (along with the rest of television) is liberal biased.

However, here is a member of the liberal media slamming a CNN show that was over zealous in defended the president (not a news stations job).
The liberal/conservative difference here is that John Stewert (definitely liberal) is willing to point out ANYONE who is being ridiculous, ignorant or misleading even if they agree with him. I don't see many (if any) conservative doing the same thing. I think it is dangerous if anyone doesn't question BOTH parties on any issue.
Anyone have thoughts on this?-

I keep on harping that the greatest danger to America is Party Loyalty. It is destroying this country. And I believe that's the way the Parties want it. They want to keep the public in disarray and fighting so they are distracted from the real problems - Government corruption and sell out to Financial and Power interests.
I usually refer to the two Parties as the Two Headed Washington Monster or as Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee. I also keep claiming that we need to get rid of both parties if we ever want to have good ethical moral government ever again.
T state that we need to choose a Party and I have suggested the Republican Party as what I think is the best choice to get rid of first. I see no way to get them both at the same time.
All we have to do to get rid of the Republican Party is shun it forevermore. Never vote for a Republican Candidate again. Concurrently be trying to form an Independent Coalition. Once we get rid of the Republicans and have a viable Independent Coalition start shunning the Democrats out - this will give the Democrats to reform and maybe save themselves.
It will be up to them, do it and live or refuse to do it and join the Republicans in the dust bin of history.
That is how I've been rambling for some time. Is it gathering momentum, only time will tell, but if one person a day responds and that responder converts one person a day, and on and on, what will the scene look like a thousand days from now? -

We live in an enormous propaganda bubble from cradle to birth. For most of the corporate media their "job" is to keep us dumb, docile and under control to the point that we never question our corrupt elite.

Hyping "left" vs "right" games is simply political theater. More important is to examine what the politicians do, NOT what they say. Of course CNN (as a zionist organization) is happy that Obama is now kowtowing to the israel-firsters laced throughout our government.
Warmonger Wins Peace Prize
It took 25 years longer than George Orwell thought for the slogans of 1984 to become reality.
“War is Peace,” “Freedom is Slavery,” “Ignorance is Strength.”
I would add, “Lie is Truth.”
The Nobel Committee has awarded the 2009 Peace Prize to President Obama, the person who started a new war in Pakistan, upped the war in Afghanistan, and continues to threaten Iran with attack unless Iran does what the US government demands and relinquishes its rights as a signatory to the non-proliferation treaty.
...Obama, the committee gushed, has created “a new climate in international politics.”
Tell that to the 2 million displaced Pakistanis and the unknown numbers of dead ones that Obama has racked up in his few months in office. Tell that to the Afghans where civilian deaths continue to mount as Obama’s “war of necessity” drones on indeterminably.
No Bush policy has changed. Iraq is still occupied. The Guantanamo torture prison is still functioning. Rendition and assassinations are still occurring. Spying on Americans without warrants is still the order of the day. Civil liberties are continuing to be violated in the name of Oceania’s “war on terror.”
...Obama has done nothing to hold the criminal Bush regime to account, and the Obama administration has bribed and threatened the Palestinian Authority to go along with the US/Israeli plan to deep-six the UN’s Goldstone Report on Israeli war crimes committed during Israel’s inhuman military attack on the defenseless civilian population in the Gaza Ghetto.
The US Ministry of Truth is delivering the Obama administration’s propaganda that Iran only notified the IAEA of its “secret” new nuclear facility because Iran discovered that US intelligence had discovered the “secret” facility. This propaganda is designed to undercut the fact of Iran’s compliance with the Safeguards Agreement and to continue the momentum for a military attack on Iran.
...When justifications for war become almost endless--oil, hegemony, women’s rights, democracy, revenge for 9/11, denying bases to al Qaeda and protecting against terrorists--war becomes the path to peace.
The Nobel committee has bestowed the prestige of its Peace Prize on Newspeak and Doublethink.
(Paul Craig Roberts was Assistant Secretary of the Treasury in the Reagan administration)

Thanks for the invite. I watched this episode last night and was just cracking up! Of course, it is both sad and hilarious that this is even a topic of discussion.
It just goes to show the arrogance of these so called news shows that they manipulate information and their audiences without thinking about how they come across to the intelligent viewer. -

That was SO good! And that's why I stopped watching CNN on to three years ago now. They would give some goof ball the 'last word', and his or her last word would be absolutely ludicrous.....then the commentator would say they were out of time!! Of course the ridiculous remarks were left dangling there, for observers to grab onto and repeat, because NO ONE was acting like a journalist and checking on the facts! DANG! Sooooo frustrating!! And over a period of several days I sat and watched, counting that in every instance that 'last word' was given to a conservative.
