"I'm not a racist. I just don't believe in mixing the races that way," Bardwell told the Associated Press on Thursday. "I have piles and piles of black friends. They come to my home, I marry them, they use my bathroom. I treat them just like everyone else."
This proves he's no racist! He lets people use his bathroom. (I wonder if he has boys and girls or black and white signs over the doors?)-

I don't see how he'll retain his license once the review is complete. JP's don't have the latitude to push their own agenda like he is doing. The law is clear and he's clearly breaking it. He'll be out of a job soon. What is honestly the most amazing part to me is that these folks aren't the first to be denied a license by him for this reason, but this is the first complaint? Why wasn't he reported and this pursued in one of the other cases?
This whole story just proves that, black President or not, America has a long way to go in healing race relations across the country.

is his belief that interracial marriages do not last long anecdotal or is that supported by real data?

no matter.
when you accept the responsibility of a career or job in public service, you should extend that service to anyone who wants it; it's not for the public servant to deny a legitimate request from two members of the community wherein he is the justice of the peace.
i have the same problem with pharmacists who won't fill certain drug prescriptions as a result of their own bias. they are there to fill the doctor's orders for drugs.

Hey BB, there are more than two races -- though some people think the concept of race in and of itself is an artifice.

Personally, I hope my children's interracial marriages last a loooong time. We were socially progressive -- even let white kids in the house.

Some people never change! Believe me I'm white and from the South and have just celebrated 30 years marriage to a wonderful black man. Yes we have grandchildren who are beautiful interracial children of God. Get with it Bardwell or resign. Do the people of the US a favor, pull the dirt in on yourself and the RIP on your stone, stands for Racist Ignorant People like you. That's nice compared to what you may face at your maker's gate.
