30 GOP Senators Vote to Defend Gang Rape
Reply
It is stunning that 30 Republican members of the United States Senate would vote to protect a corporation, in this case Halliburton/KBR, over a woman who was gang raped. The details from Think Progress:
In 2005, Jamie Leigh Jones was gang-raped by her co-workers while she was working for Halliburton/KBR in Baghdad. She was detained in a shipping container for at least 24 hours without food, water, or a bed, and "warned her that if she left Iraq for medical treatment, she'd be out of a job." (Jones was not an isolated case.) Jones was prevented from bringing charges in court against KBR because her employment contract stipulated that sexual assault allegations would only be heard in private arbitration.

BTW, the very first *word* of this story's title informed you that this is an OPINION piece. Why, then, do you deliberately and continually defy Propeller site rules and post your stories under inappropriate categories? Why do you do this? Offensive tripe from some bigoted, low-life con with a pinhead does not qualify as news. And that goes for the author of this story as well. Seriously, what would make you think this crap would be any less compelling if you had simply posted it under Political Opinion (where you KNOW it should have gone)?

Nice scare tactics. Harry Hay is the man who got the first gay organization together. The Mattachine Society had nothing to do with NAMBLA. NAMBLA is not endorsed by any gay organizations. You are trying to hide behind lies and fear to avoid the truth. That you are prejudiced against gay people.

J Edgar Hoover was about as sexually deranged as you can get and was in a position of power and answered to nobody. Are you saying that the FBI is full of gays influenced by him?

It's pretty obvious by watching the recent behaviour of republicans that some people are capable of doing their own thinking and some people are not.
Maybe the Moonie owned Washington Times should look at it's own organization being influenced by crackpots before criticizing others.

"just another nut-job Obama put into a position of power that only answers to the him."

--But I think cons celebrate teabaggers, birthers, and domestic terrorists. So I pretty sure you're the least qualified people to judge who is or isn't a nutjob. Seriously. You're not credible at all. ;-( -

If Mr. Jennings openly advocates Harry Hay's membership in NAMBLA, that would be disturbing, however, guilt by association is not sufficient cause by itself. Anyone can praise someone without knowing fully what positions they have taken or their stands on issues. I dare say we can find praise lavished on Senator Foley by prominent Republicans before it came out that he was soliciting young boys. Has every Republican who said something good about Mr Foley or his work earned the label of Nut Job?

To put matters in perspective. Sexual predation and sexual orientation are two very different subjects. Most sexual predators who abuse children are straight men abusing young girls. If we enlarge this category to include rape of adults, straight men win this category hands down. This does not mean that straight men are inherently perverse but it would if you wanted to use a statistical correlation to impugn sexual orientation with sexual predation.-

Also... Jennings' praise of Hay's gay rights strides came before Hay joined NAMBLA. I'm a big fan of Bill Clinton but tomorrow he could rip his face off and reveal himself to be a crab person from Zebula 9, it doesn't mean I support the Zebuloneans implanting their crab people in our bodies. Honestly... is thinking really such an infrequently taught thing?

FTA: "Fifty-three Republican congressmen yesterday demanded that President Obama fire his embattled "safe schools czar," Kevin Jennings."

which means 125 republican congressman (two-thirds of the repubs in congress) haven't demanded anything concerning Jennings.

On the other hand, 125 bones in my body tell me that if I threw every Gravitation Manga/Doujin/DVD/CD in a giant pot with genetic material from David Cook, Justin Long, Brad Pitt, Chace Crawford and Zac Efron... the result would be the perfect gay liberal pretty boy singer and that he'd be universally drooled over
