Obama Weekly Radio Address: Insurers Are 'Filling The Airwaves With Deceptive And Dishonest Ads' »
Posted By bluetexasvalley 2 months ago in Political NewsPushing back against his critics, President Barack Obama says overhauling the health care system, while helping millions of people, also will test whether policy makers can "serve the national interest despite the unrelenting efforts of the special interests." The administration is trying to build momentum for the president's overhaul effort after the Senate Finance Committee voted 14-9 vote this week for a bill that would extend health care coverage to millions of people.

"The history is clear: For decades rising health care costs have unleashed havoc on families, businesses and the economy," the president said Saturday in his weekly radio and Internet address. "And for decades, whenever we have tried to reform the system, the insurance companies have done everything in their considerable power to stop us."
"It's smoke and mirrors," the president added. "It's bogus. And it's all too familiar. Every time we get close to passing reform, the insurance companies produce these phony studies as a prescription and say, 'Take one of these, and call us in a decade.' Well, not this time." -

How about using his full name respectfully instead of as a method of attack you disrespectful idiota. COMMON GALLAGHER, fight fair. I know it's against anti-gay National Organization For Marriage Policy but stop lying, win on the content of your argument alone without resorting to smear campaigns!

Explain to me engineer why the insurance companies will not have to raise their rates.

Problem 1
The Finance committee want to hit the insurers with taxes to mostly pay for this bill. That gets passed on to their customers just like taxes for any business get passed on to the customers of it.
Problem 2
Insurance companies will be forced to accept anybody no matter what. Pre existing conditions and age are not to be looked at. Thus the cost of insurance will go higher so they can have everybody pay for these people with expensive problems.
The only way to keep the insurance companies costs down is to restrict what the insurance pays for. Restricting access to different procedures or medicine. Too costly then it is not allowed. Is this the way the bill is going to stop the rising costs?
How does any insurance work? Everybody pays money to the insurance company. It goes into a pool and the insurance companies pay out according to the policy that the person bought. The insurance commissioner of each state oversees that the cost of the policy is in accordance with its types of payout requirements and does not make too much profit. The insurance company has to layout all of their costs for each kind of policy to get an increase in the cost to the customer. So if they are saying they will have to raise their rates it looks like it is true to me.Since there will be more sick people getting the insurance then costs go up. Paying huge taxes will have the costs going up. The Union people are up in arms over that one. They have negotiated the better insurance plans.

I'm amazed that we are supposed to believe what HE has to say about everyone else lying. He hasn't given me any consistent information so far for me to believe him. Blank statements do not put me in awe of him. He said there will be transparency in this administration.......uh, nope. Let me read the bill and judge for myself. As an American I feel I have the choice to take the information and decide for myself what I believe in. Just because a man, who pees and craps like every other man says something....I will not believe it.
