It's not just the Mayans. I believe the Hopis were in on the doomsday prognostication too. Don't mess with the Hopis, they grew the Blue Corn. If we get a third indigenous group with a prediction, then I think it's time to start shorting some stock.

Can the egg heads (social parasites) at NASA guarantee that the house of cards economy of the US is stable?

If the credit system goes down and the transportation system cannot function then we are facing mass starvation, anarchy and a total breakdown of civilization as we KNOW IT! -

The article says that most of the 2012 frenzy on the web can be traced to a film production company due to release a movie next month based on this very subject, tapping into the insecurities of every single conspiracy nut out there.

Coincidence? Or just viral marketing at its most unstoppable?-

Shades of the 2000 Millennium hoax. What will the true believers of the 2012 end of the world nut cases think when their world is still alive and kicking? Through out history, end of the world aficionados have predicted the demise of our earth and it hasn't yet happened. How do these nuts continue living with egg on their faces? Another prediction?

It's pretty pathetic when people have to have a NASA scientist assure them that the world will not end in 2012 just because the Mayans calendar ends in 2012. If the Mayans were so smart then how come their world ended about 500 years before their calendar?
Reply
Maybe the Mayan government decided not to fund a calendar extension or they lost the other part or maybe that was as far as they could count. lmao -

The Mayans self destructed due to their inability to sustain their natural resources and the consequences of that life style. Our world will eventually end because of that very reason. It will NOT happen in 2012 but 2112 is a real possibility if the occupants of this beautiful planet don't get together, stop fighting and work to create a world that will prosper for thousands of years to come.

My ancestors, the Crymtonians (or Crymtyphontistic
Reply
people) were an ancient indigineous tribe who could perform
many miraculous feats, although usualy only when no one
was watching.
Fire walking, fire breathing, fire eating, and occasional
arson were common among them; as was prophecy and
mystic pronounciation.
The Crym People knew the secrets of the forests
and streams, the stars and the earth;
secrets that astounded western linear thinkers.
Unfortunately the western thinkers knew the secrets of
gunpowder, smallpox and cheap alcoholic production.
But it was common knowledge among my ancestors,
that the world would end on Friday, October 23, 2009.
At 11:27 PM, a janitor at the Large Hadron Collider
will unplug the central server so that he can vaccuum.
This will cause all of the earth to be sucked into a black hole
the size of the period at the end of this sentence .
So let's all get along; we are going to be very close
to each other.
Two days left to the world; enjoy them! -

weird coincidence, I just came from a lecture by an anthropologist, Dr. Judith Storniolo, who studies the central American cultures. This particular lecture was about the Mayans and (among other things) the 2012 predictions. (obviously she new this would be a good selling point for the rest of her material)
Reply
not only did she demonstrate that there is no 2012 doomsday prediction, but she also showed us multiple Mayan Hieroglyphs that have dates post 2012.
she stated that this 2012 myth has developed from a single codex, whose translation is in dispute due to fact it was considered secret by the Mayans and therefore written in a code that we don't have the key to. Nor is there any secondary source in Mayan literature for it.
Therefore the it is not reliable to claim it is part of the Mayan mythos and/or calendar. -

Wow, I can't believe how outta hand this has gotten. In the eighties I was prescribed Marax, an asthma drug now off the market. One side effect was ESP in certain people. I've seen the future. I only got uncontrolled glimpses, it was not controllable. I've seen 10,009 - I'm talking molded freeways, giant glittering cities, people with each individual hair of a different color. So everyone is good to at least 10,009 so no need to worry. May God bless you all...Al Schrader
