Health Care for America NOW - If the insurance companies win, you lose »

There's a debate in Washington, DC about health care and it comes down to this: If the insurance companies win, we lose.

The insurance companies are spending $1.4 million a day to oppose reform because they profit by keeping the system as it is ... by denying claims, raising premiums, co-pays and deductibles at will, making health care decisions instead of our doctors, denying care because of pre-existing conditions. While health insurance CEO's took home $690 million, health insurance premiums have been going up four times faster than wages.

You can replace the sentence with "if XXX wins, then YYY lose". We lived in an overpopulated world today with limited resources. It is not even a zero sum game.

If the rich corporations win, the ordinary people lose. If the people wins, the corporations lose. There are very few win-win situation these days. Unless we can control the population growth in negative figures, we all need to share the available wealth and resources.

Yes I know the right wing will denounce this as socialism, or communism. But this is the truth we all have to face and deal with. The alternative is for the rich to win a lot more at the expenses of the ordinary citizens.

"The insurance companies have a total stranglehold over health care. They make record profits. They make the decisions. They put profits before people and do so at our expense. And they're giving millions in campaign contributions to win reforms that will add billions more to their profits and do nothing for the rest of us."

Ok, so the insurance companies are paying all this money to politicians; that you want to put in place of the insurance companies. What exactly do you think the politicians are going to do for you? Like a fat cat pol really has your best intentions at heart, beyond getting your vote of course!

Insurance companies are in it for the profit, do you really think they would do this and take a loss? Of course it's a big money business, that's what the intention of it is, how many people does this industry employ? There are many more employees then the few execs that this article points out. Those employees are just middle class people paying their bills just like the rest of us.

Don't let anti-insurance company articles like this fool you, there are other ways then a public option sham like the administration is pushing for.

Insurance profit margin: less than 4%

        Government profit margin: 100%

Liberals: see clue above. Ruminate on it until it begins to sink in. Then come back to the discussion and pretend you have a clue.

This is not reform. Should these proposals pass into law we the people will lose. Quality of care will decline, availability will be limited, and decision on who lives or when you die will be made by the Government. The cost, 1/6th the economy under Government control and your freedom of choice, that all.
