TRANSPARENCY - Obama's Secret White House Briefing with Olbermann and Maddow »
Posted By pc25 2 months, 1 week ago in NewsRevealed: Who else was at that secret Obama briefing with Olby and Maddow?
Tantalizing but frustrating, as it’s only a partial list; without the full attendance sheet, it’s impossible to say definitively that the most transparent administration evah was playing only to its cheerleaders. Even so, while Gloria Borger isn’t particularly ideological as far as I know, there’s little question where Robinson, Dowd, and especially Ifill stand.

Obama's WH Chief of Staff Holds Daily, Secret Calls With Pals in Media
http://newsbusters.org/blogs/warner-todd-huston/20...
FTA
Politico reports that White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel holds daily chit chat sessions with several Old Media pals every morning to start his day. Apparently Emanuel has for years been involved with daily bull sessions to plan media coverage and ideological strategy with CNN's James Carville and Paul Begala, as well as ABC's George Stephanopoulos, with the occasional participation of pollster Stan Greenberg. But there is one little problem with this daily palling around with mediots these days: Emanuel now works for the White House. [Image credit: politico.com]
As Politico's John Harris notes, "in any given news cycle, it is quite likely that Washington’s prevailing political and media interpretation -- at least on the Democratic side -- is being hatched on these calls."

Not even the most basic pretense of objectivity
It is a systematic, and blatant attempt to control all news, opinion, and to stifle opposing viewpoints as Obama in full panic mode tries to impose his radical agenda on a populace that is becoming increasingly concerned about it.-

Love it.
Almost forgot another media control freak who said the following.
"The press is our chief ideological weapon"......... Nikita Khrushchev
However, I think the following is closer to our current situation;
"The media want to maintain their intimate relation to state power. They want to get leaks, they want to get invited to the press conferences. They want to rub shoulders with the Secretary of State, all that kind of business. To do that, you've got to play the game, and playing the game means telling their lies, serving as their disinformation apparatus." - ...............Noam Chomsky -

If this is a blatant attempt to control all news & opinion as you suggest I suggest BO is going about it the wrong way. Afterall Overbearing & Maddow might have less viewers than I have rooms in my house. They probably will last a briefer time in their jobs than Obama who has 3 years to go.

The attacks on the US Chamber of Commerce, Rush, Fox, are for 1 purpose and 1 purpose only. To create a diversion, a distraction designed to keep peoples attention off of the facts of his health care bill, it's spiraling costs and reduction in the quality of services as the Dems try to put 1 over on the public, the ever increasing problems with Iran,Afghanistan and Pakistan and his ineffectiveness in dealing with them, cap and tax. and his overseas reputation of being a weak and ineffective leader.

He is now in the process of marshalling his propaganda ministers. This clandestine meeting with the supposed unpartisan free press should be of concern to everyone. -

...Update: The White House has sent TVNewser the complete list of those who attended the off-the-record briefing Monday: Eugene Robinson, E.J. Dionne, Ron Brownstein, John Dickerson, Rachel Maddow, Frank Rich, Jerry Seib, Maureen Dowd, Keith Olbermann, Bob Herbert, Gloria Borger, and Gwen Ifill. Several members of the staff also attended.
There you have it. Now we know where to look for President Approved Punditry.
It must have been exciting for Ron Brownstein to meet heavy journalistic talents like Maddow and Olbermann. -

Gosh, that was terrible. A sitting vice president – with close ties to the oil community – having the gaul to meet with oil and other energy executives in private to discuss the energy crisis. Democrats often pointed to Vice President Cheney’s meetings as part of the problem, promising transparency in the future. Well as it turns out, not so much.
From the Los Angeles Times blog, Top of the Ticket.
Obama White House breaks another promise to reject Bush secrecy
… Obama administration officials have rejected a watchdog group’s request for a list of healthcare industry executives who’ve been meeting secretly in the White House with Obama staffers to discuss healthcare changes being drafted there and in Congress.
President Obama was not involved with national politics at the time, but his political Web site – Organizing for America – certainly does point out the Cheney energy meetings. In the Plan to Change Washington section, they refer to the problem…
Lobbyists Write National Policies: For example, Vice President Dick Cheney’s Energy Task Force of oil and gas lobbyists met secretly to develop national energy policy.
houldn’t the public know which health care CEOs the White House is courting in its desperate attempt to save Obamacare?
Didn’t the president promise the dawn of the greatest era of sunlight and open records and transparency — and an end to the dark days of George Bush?
and now meetings with the News organization to spin news and opinion........whose the hypocrite
You also have conveniently forgot Al Gore and his ties to the White House. Al Gore and his venture capital company heavily invested on carbon trading companies. You have also forgotten GE with its ties to the White House. GE the parent company of MSNBC, and NBC and who can control the news, spin and opinion from people like Olbermann and Maddow. GE who is HEAVILY invested in carbon credit trading and who stands to make billions upon billions of dollars off of the people of this country with their carbon credit trading companies. GE who is so heavily leveraged over cap and trade, is it any wonder that MSNBC continues to push this global warming hype. Who's zoomin who, bro? -

Bush met with FOX NEWS "reporters" and right-wing radio talk show hosts and "journalists" SEVERAL times during his presidency, and Bush did NOT EVER invite ANYONE that had any 'hint' of "liberalism" to those or to ANY 'private' or 'off-record' meeting with him.
That was just a-ok with you all.
Obama HAS ALREADY met with several conservative reporters and journalists. But just ONE 'meeting' with anyone that is not "conservative" is anathema, an appalling injustice.
What a JOKE!
You don't just have a severe problem with short-term memory loss - you have such a FIERCE HATE of Obama that you take anything and everything he does and TWIST it all into "bad".
You are, thus, also beyond PATHETIC.-

WaPo Shocker: Obama Staffers Attend Secret Dinners With Lefty Media
"The Washington Post's Howard Kurtz has let the cat out of the bag in the Post's April 27 issue about a regularly scheduled secret media dinner attended by some of the top left-wing journalists in the country. But it isn't just the lefty scribblers that have attended these secret, off-the-record dinners for these gatherings have each featured a guest. Rahm Emanuel, Sec. of the Treasury Tim Geithner, and Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke have all recently had their chance to schmooze the press and guide them with the spin desired by the White House.
So, not only does Obama's Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel have secret daily phone calls with which to program the media's coverage of the White House, now it is revealed that Emanuel and other Obama staffers have been attending secret dinners to help the press understand what the White House wants reported? As Kurtz says, it all sounds "rather cozy," doesn't it?"
