The congressman argued that it is hypocritical for Senate and House members receiving "government-administered single-payer health care -- Medicare" to oppose making such coverage available to the American public.

It is to be hoped that RTHTGakaRoland has the intestinal fortitude to refuse to accept Medicare.
When I saw the drop, I instantly had the mental image of a poisonous reptile lurking under a bush waiting for a small animal to attck.

        i partly agree with this.

while i do advocate that they should get paid well, i also think their direct benefits ought not be mended into the tax-payer burden. they all should have to go through private issuers. and if that means giving them a raise to help pay for it, then by all means, give them a raise.

i honestly don't think they get paid enough. in fact, if they got paid better, then maybe they wouldn't be so vulnerable to lobbyists in the first place. i mean if we can give millions to ceo's for failing to keep their company afloat, i'm sure we can sacrifice a similar amount to our congress (who fail all the same.) might as well.

Congress should give up their special insurance and enroll in a trial government option to see if it works.

Do I under that the public option is going to be like medicare.Suits me if we go all the way.I paid into medicare from its inception in 1965 until 2002 before I could access it,so I don't see any comparison.Medicare = Apples/Public option = Oranges.
