endo - We heard more Traitors, Cowards, Terrorist lovers, coddling terrorists, Supporting Terrorists, America haters, America Bashers, Endangering American troops, and other such nonsensical insults and labels thrown at us from the Right.

What is the matter with the cons?

I am wondering when both sides will realize this is a game that both the Dem. and Rep parties like to play and you are the pawns. We are not dem and reps. We are Americans!

As long as they can keep us fighting and name calling,we will not be paying attention to what THEY are doing. If the dems were as critical of thier own elected officials as they were of Bush things would be running different now. The same thing stands for the Reps when they were in power. Following either of these 2 parties blindly will only further OUR problems.

Break up thier monopoly and Vote them out in 2010. Both dems and reps. Start thinking of you families and your country and stop letting them set the rules for thier own personal and political gain.

...and who would you vote "in" to replace them?

I would fill the congress with independents. A complete divide of the power. Ones who are more concerned about the issues than the control of power for thier party.

Vote who out Albmore? There are some fine representatives in Congress. (One that comes to mind is Patty Murray of WA.) I don't disagree that some should go. Maybe what's needed is a clearinghouse that allows a clear and fair representation of their votes and their lobbyist ties to those votes. Also, it wouldn't be enough to say they voted against a 'good' bill. For example, many voted against the stopping late term abortion bill. What WASN'T well released by media is WHY they voted against it, leaving CONS to use their vote against them. They voted no because CONS refused to put the life of the mother ahead of the life of the
          unborn. That's all democrats wanted.
So, while I'm all for removing poor politicians, I'm not all for doing it in knee jerk fashion.

I do not doubt you will be able to find a handful that should be re-elected. I will bet though that the number could probally be counted on one hand. If a few dems and reps remained it would nopt be a problem as lonf as thier party no longer has a control over the system. They have built 2 dynasties, The have crushed better canidates because of thier power and funds. Only we the American people can remove that power from thier hands and the only way to do that is through congress. A direct run for the president would be a failure as we have seen by smaller parties who cannot compete on the same financial grounds.
