Hogwash.
I remember them parroting the White House talking point. The farwell revisionist tour where not one reporter question the stories GW and Darth were telling....
The MSM did not act like Faux News. No way now how.

Fox News is for those who like to be spoon fed their beliefs. The conservative movement is very paternalistic. The intellectually lazy want simplistic, prepackaged ideas that are easy to follow, cartoonish, emotionally satisfying, and unambiguous. Fox viewers passively absorb this tripe without vetting it. Think children, and you will understand the mentality.

If Fox News gives a different viewpoint, fine. We have free speech. But don't deny that CNN, CBS, MSNBC are all totally in the tank for Obama and have been feeling "chills up their legs" since the junior senator from Illinois was elected. Fox's news shows are actually quite fair. Their opinion shows like O'Reilly, etc. are opinion but don't masquerade as news, unlike slathering fools like Olbermann and Chris Matthews, who are nowhere close to being impartial journalists.

If FOX was broadcasting news rather than the endless partisan commentary I believe we all could accept the station as simply an organization presenting difference of material. This is not the case. We have a station owned by a foreigner that has always been based by his political mission. FOX has abdicated its responsibility as a news station. It even went to court to win the right to broadcast untruths. It has and always been an excellent example of tabloid journalism.

Try this. However, you have to read this and not merely pass it off as more propaganda.

Pitney must have missed the saturation coverage Fox gave to Balloon Boy, Michael Jackson, Anna Nicole Smith, Natalee Holloway...
A big honcho from HuffPo is a "reliable source" for CNN? That's rich! -

It's happened more than once. The most recent case involved a school in New Jersey where the children had to sing a song worthy of the Hitler Youth. You neocoms miss the inconvenient truths, eh? I'm just waiting for B.O. to get hit with the crap that's hitting the fan in the wake of his failed economic/Marxist policies.

CNN: White House Attacks On Fox Help Its Ratings, Hurt Democrats
JOHN KING, CNN CHIEF NATIONAL CORRESPONDENT: And David Axelrod had coffee with Roger Ailes, the head of FOX News, in New York during the United Nations General Assembly.
And if that was an attempt at detente, Anita Dunn's quotes are going to, shall we say, blow up any peace talks. It is a -- it is a difficult moment. In your travels, Wolf -- I travel quite a bit -- and in your travels you do get this polarization, and that is what the White House is worried about.
But David and Tony know this better than me and Gloria from campaigns. The environment is polarized. And if they further polarize it by getting into a fight with Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly and others at FOX News, it is the congressional Democrats on the ballot next year who will be at risk in this polarized environment. -

Data by Nielsen Media Research. Live and same day (DVR) data.
From which it would appear that the 99% not watching FNC as Grayson said is basically incorrect or was a politically expedient number to use.-

I love how you guys keep putting up ratings as if it means something. as if the neilsen ratings are some kind of truth meter.
Reply
well, guess what?
no one is really getting their news from cable.
fox, if they were an legit news channel, would be in front, but they still only get just over 1% of america watching on their best day.
so this isnt about ratings.
this is about the legitimacy of fox as a news source.
and with only 1% of america watching fox, its obvious that america simply isn't buying what fox is selling.
deal with it.

Although the above in no way proves that FNC is a pure news station and without a political slant or objective it does point out, that in the era of 24/7 TV news, FNC is winning the ratings war which increases market share and therefore profits.
Reply
In that FNC is ahead in the stats would indicate that they are saying and or doing things that the majority of viewers find interesting and informative.
Maybe the other news outlets should do the same to up their ratings also or are they waiting to become 501c(3)'s, ie non-profits, supported by Govt/Taxpayer funds to keep their business's afloat.-

Interesting and informative......or entertaining?
Higher ratings just means they've held their veiwers' attention longer than the other news stations have. News, however, has historically been a "loss leader" in broadcasting. Only in the last couple decades have ratings, or market share, with regard to the news mattered at all. And really, that is part of the problem we have today. Our news stations want to "entertain" rather than "inform" in order to win the ratings wars, and ALL the 24/7 news outlets are guilty of this mindset. That is why we see round-the-clock coverage of Michael Jackson and Anna Nicole Smith deaths in favor of any REAL news going, and a system where they can't seem to report more than 3-4 stories at any given time. I remember (and long for) the days when the preferred news source was an hour news broadcast giving all the news you need....30 minutes of local news, weather, sports, and all that matters to you at home, and then 30 minutes of world news...about 3 minutes per story, give or take, and then onto the next, then the next, then the next. Contrast that with ANY 24 hour news network for an hour and you're lucky to hear about more than even ONE story....which is really the more informative?
Local network news is the more informative, but the much lower rated. Why? Because it's all about entertaining the masses. In today's world of reality TV and the Jerry Springer mentality that so many cling to, it's all about the biggest "gotcha" or the biggest scandal that they can report, then milking it dry before moving onto the next biggest "gotcha" or scandal and repeating the process.
All a bigger market share means is the most entertaining. The most informative is still the evening news or even PBS, whose market share consistently pulls up the rear.

Seriously, if you have a problem with Socialism, never drive on the roads again, and never go or send any of your children to a school or university. I watched Fox News for 10 minutes friday night and a Dem Senator said that Fox News is indeed Fair and Balanced as long as you tell the truth...imagine the concept of truth. I also watched Fox News for 10 minutes on thursday night and a Dem Senatior said the Dems voted down the picture ID requirement for any government plan because they where afraid of the back lash from illegal alien advocacy groups. Two things come to mind here , the Dems are afraid of these illegal alien advocates and not the 92% of America that wants no illegals in our country , let alone getting free health care off the tax payers backs, and the other thing was just how ironic it was that a Dem Senator said Fox News was indeed Fair and Balanced.

Let me repeat what I've said before: Are you accusing them of being Communist, or Socialist? Because they're not the same thing... The whole world knows that and the whole world is shaking their head at your stupidity. Marxism has nothing to do with Communism, anybody who takes a basic Philosophy class knows this. You shouldn't talk about things you know nothing about.
