Sweden church allows gay weddings »
Posted By opiczka2 1 month ago in NewsThe Lutheran Church of Sweden - the country's largest - is to conduct same-sex marriages from next month.
Around 70% of the church's 250-strong synod, or church board, voted to back the move, making it one of few global churches to allow gay marriage. Sweden's government introduced a new law in May allowing gay couples the same marriage rights as heterosexuals. Sweden's archbishop is broadly supportive of the move

Good news indeed - especially if you're both Swedish and gay!

Maybe they'll marry gay people from other countries there too?
I've just discovered that there is a considerable Muslim population. I can't help being curious about whether any gay Muslims will be seeking a Lutheran marriage and how that might play out.. Some rather terrifying possibilities perhaps? -

Sweden's largest gay rights group, the Swedish Federation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Rights (RFSL), welcomed the move.
[The church's] homosexual and bisexual members will finally be able to feel a little more welcome within society," the group said in a statement.""
"[We] congratulate the Church of Sweden for its decision."
Yes we now have the church of Sweden, We have the Lutheran Church, We have the Catholic Church, we have the Presbyterian church,we have the Methodist Church, we have the Baptist Church...
But are they really a Church ?? Or are they men pleasers with their own agendas. Trying to win converts by watering down the messages. Allowing what is stated to be sinful in the Bible. While not caring about what lies and messages they are sending to the unknowing.
This is indeed what satan is hoping for. A falling away from what the Gospels and the Bible teach. All he has to do to destroy souls is to get people to follow false doctrines and teachings.
Congratulation's to all those who applaud this. You are allowing people to be damned by their fleshly desires while feeling they are blessed by a real church.
God help us.-

No. You're the "men pleasers" with your own agenda watering down the teachings of Christ by embracing an anti-homosexual agenda that simply isn't in the Bible in the original language. The hypocrisy is amazing. -

Catechism of the Catholic Church:
Reply
Article 2357:
"Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures..."
I do not have any comments to it.
"Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity,141 tradition has always declared that "homosexual relationships are intrinsically disordered."
Here, unfortunately, I cannot agree. There is no clear interpretation of the Scriptures. Another term that is largely misleading is the "homosexual relationships". The Bible does not refer anywhere to homosexual relationships. A relationship is a certain social union of two or more persons. While it may be understood as a short-term, if we took the Catholic argument literally, the Bible condemns homosexual act or behaviour. Not a relationship between two people or even partners.
"They close the sexual act to the gift of life..."
That is true, but there are heterosexual partners who behave the same (contraceptives, condoms, family planning, sex for pleasure, etc.). Furthermore, we could also argue that if one from the couple was infertile, then ishould not s/he in accordance with this logic, refrain from any sexual acts, since they would inevitably not intended the production of a gift of life?
"They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity.“
This prejudice has been refuted countless times, but the Catholic Church probably does not know gender issues and constantly relies on stereotypes, where the woman is created for bringing up children and man for securing family.

I don't see why everyone is so concerned with gay marriage.
Reply
it won't impact your life one bit.
and if you really think god is all that, god will take care of all these "sinners" in the afterlife.
so relax all you haters, and quit trying to play god.
god's got the situation under control.-

Tell me why gays want to force the issue of being recognized as being marrried.
Because they believe their actions to be "normal" ??
They are not normal. They are abnormal.
Now they want to be able to say we are just like everyone else and they are not.
God created Adam and Eve. Not Adam and Steve, or Eve and Eva.
Now do I care if they want to do the things they do ??? Nahhhhh !!!!!
But why should we have to accept their deviations as normal, and say they are equal to a husband and wife. That is like people who live together and say they are married when they are not. They are boyfriend and girlfriend cohabitating. If they are involved in a sexual relationship they are sinning.
See I guess ya want to define sin as what ya see as sin. Well good luck with that when ya face God.
Ya mock what ya know not and dare to make light of God.
It will not go well for ya if ya continue to hate as ya claim others do.

They want to marry, fine. But I do have issue with adopting or creating children by artificial methods. They cannot naturally procreate. It is not a fair environment for a child. It is as tho they recruit by hosting off of heterosexuals. I do not believe that what they do is normal for everyone. But they are human and are entitled to the same Human rights as everyone else. But that is where it stops for me. If you cannot naturally maintain your existence do not use me. I do not care if you marry, if you are a mature adult and realize what you are doing. I am not a proponent of them raising children. It is not fair to the children. There is no way that would not screw up a child. If homosexuality is natural within you, then let it be. But if it is a manipulation, that is a crime and a violation of someone else's human rights. One person's normal is another's perversion. What they do is not normal to me. Gay rights should be you keep that to yourself. I won't ask you and please do not tell me. We may share the same anatomy, but our gender is totally different and the conflict with open gays will always be territorial. You want to be a girl when it convienant for you, then walk into a man's restroom claiming to be the same. Sorry, but you cannot wave the stick from both ends. You want to be openly gay? Then you have to deal with the territory and respect our diferences. We are not the same gender and respect my heterosexual right.

Plain and simple. It IS the belief of the church and most all religions that homosexuality is a sin and against the teachings of God.

As I disagree with churches picketing and going after the gay communitee, I also disagree that homosexuals should try to force thier li´fe styles in the church where it is seen as a sin.No I do not see this as a church that conflicts with the teachings. -
