Michigan together with 5 other foreclosure-battered states comprised 62 percent of total foreclosures filed nationwide in the third quarter.

21st Century slavery...I agree...but the source...Kevin Perkins, the Assistant Director of the FBI's Criminal Division...need know what causes this...and prevent it from happening. Enforcing the use of a counterfeit currency surely does not help...

Geogia50 , you are right but in West Michigan , Republicans won by a landslide like they do in every race...I can't speak for the eastern side that is full of ghetos and has the biggest Muslim population in the entire country though.

Philbrick, check your facts please. Bush had nothing to do with the meltdown, nor did O'bama although he would've if he'd been there. It all had to do with the "equal opportunity" lending policies fostered by the Democrats starting with Slick Willy Clinton and strongly pushed through Freddymac and FanieMae who were buying mortgates from the banks. People were buying houses that they couldn't afford in a falsely inflated market and the Democrats were working to win over their votes. Republican efforts to but some regulations on the lending institutions during that time was thwarted by the left-wing bully pulpit which had widespread media support as usual. This was a socialist sponsored recession, but as usual they try to blame everyting on Bush
