Ben, sorry for delayed reply on this posting, but just wanted to add that I always thought of George Will as independently-minded, free-thinking conservative -- even if I haven't much agreed with his ideological positions. So, given the weight of this "intellectual" conservative (part of a disappearing breed that went the way of the late William F. Buckley, etc.), Will's criticisms of ex-Veep Creep Dick Cheney will carry weight and resonance among both Democrats and Republicans.

I'm still wondering when there will be domestic or international war crimes/treason investigations mounted to look into Cheney and other Bush Jr. Administration who signed-off on a variety of torture, indefinite detentions (without "Due Process"), the outing of CIA Agent Valerie Plame (behind "fall guy" Walter "Scooter" Libby taking on "hard-time" while Cheney and Karl Rove were his hard-riding superiors), no-bid war/recovery contracts, and other aspects of the Bush-Cheney doctrine of "Preemptive War."
It's time to really shut Dick up for good, and a little hard-time is what this six-time Vietnam War draft-dodger deserves!

You know Cheney and his supporters have a problem when people like George Will are calling them out on their BS like this. I'm just waiting for them to call for his ousting from the GOP like they did to the McCains...lol and looking forward to his reaction to it when they do.

There are some sane conservatives with the cojones to buck the Cheney's of the extreme right. I rarely agree with Will but respect his intelligence and ability to argue a conservative position without frothing at the mouth like many of his contemporaries.

Think I'm with George Will on this one. But thinking, as opposed to knee-jerk action, wasn't too much a characteristic of that Administration.

Can't say that the current bunch is much better though. It's "I know it all"-ism wearing a different hat. Maybe it's part of the necessary mentality to being a politician. -

In case you have not noticed, Obama is in charge of Iraq now.
He promised we would be out of there right away and we are still there.
He is floundering on supporting our troops in Afganastan right now causing the deaths of our military.
By the way... Lots of Dumbocrats voted to go into Iraq.
It was approved by Congress and the Senate and the UN.
It's Obama's baby now though.
How is all of that Hope and Change treating you???

What a clown. I can see you sitting in a convalescent home 30 years from now. The kitchen crew is 30 minutes late with the gruel you can barely chew and swallow: "Damn that Bush!"

"We dithered for six months before invading thanks to Democrats and the UN while France and UN officials raked in millions in the Iraqi Oil For Food scandal. Next time we'll deal with the obstructionist feint to terrorism more circumspectly, k George?" -

The cracks between the so-called Neocons and the Old School Conservatives are showing.
Nothing bothers George Will more than waste and who can argue Iraq has been nothing but to the tragedy of many.
One of whom should be Mr Cheney. -
