30 Reasons Fox News Is Not Legit »
Posted By Tumultuous 1 month ago in Political OpinionWhy the Beltway press has invested so much time and energy in recent weeks defending Fox News, with one scribe even claiming that the White House's public critique of the network was "dangerous to press freedom," and why the press refuses to acknowledge what's so obvious about the cable channel's political pursuits, remains baffling.
The facts regarding Fox News' lack of professionalism seem rather obvious (as I detail below 30 different times). And that ought to be plain for Beltway journalists as well. But whether for reasons having to do with external professional, social, or political pressures, many journalists have opted to pretend that Fox News is a serious outlet, that it's just like its cable and network TV news competitors.

FOX’s ratings have bumped up almost ten percent in the two weeks since White House decided to engage FOX News directly. And among advertisers’ favorite demographic – the spendy twenty-five to fifty-four year olds – FOX’s ratings are up a whopping fourteen percent.

This is probably not the kind of change Obama voters thought they were voting for. Congratualtions, Obama. You have transformed FOX into the most successful “news” channel ever.

And btw, CNN falls to last place in ratings for prime-time programs

At one time Anderson Cooper was the key to pulling CNN ahead of Fox News in the key prime time demographic.
Now, the Atlanta-based network's signature show, as well as the rest of its prime-time lineup, has fallen. Not just behind Fox News, but behind MSNBC and sister network Headline News.
For October, CNN averaged 202,000 viewers between the ages of 25 and 54, according to Nielsen Media numbers. Bitter rival Fox News continued to dominate the prime-time category, capturing an average 689,000 viewers, the figures showed. -
