Change You Can Believe In - 1 year poll shows changed views on Obama »
Posted By pc25 1 month, 2 weeks ago in NewsONE YEAR LATER, PUBLIC'S VIEW OF OBAMA HAS CHANGED
As the anniversary of the election approaches, the tidal wave of hope that swept Obama into office has ebbed and some perceptions of the president have changed, the USA TODAY/Gallup Poll finds.
Shannon Norris thinks President Obama deserves more time to deliver on his promises from last year's campaign. But not too much more.
"Everybody today in the United States is looking to point a finger for the problems," the teacher says as she takes a break from running the 4-H petting zoo at the annual fall festival in this leafy Michigan town of 9,000 just west of Lansing. "Well, the problems started long before (Obama) got into office. It's too soon."

A majority of Americans, 55%, have at least a fair amount of trust in President Barack Obama on healthcare reform, compared with 48% expressing trust in the Democrats in Congress and 37% trusting the Republicans in Congress.

Interesting article.

Some day the 0 Man will have to deliver on something of substance.
In other words, he will have to show his hand one day. Until that happens, it remains to be seen if he has, or does not have, a winning hand when it comes to running this country.
Yet until that happens I agree with the following person,
"He's just printed money," scoffs Bill Minear, 78, a retired business owner and a McCain voter. "Where's the change he promised?"
True, where is the 'change'? -

"That is a plank Barack Obama is walking, and there is an end to it." Jacobs says. "Each day he is in office, he takes more ownership of the economy and more blame for the ... bad economic news."
"Change," the second most common word last fall, dropped out of the top 10. "Socialist" moved up to No. 3.
he was in 2008.
"The shine is off the apple and the luster is off the car," Walberg says of Obama in an interview at a coffee shop in Jackson. "This man of hope and change — a lot of people are saying, 'We hope we can change.' " -

its got to be pretty sad for the cons when they post "hit" pieces aimed at obama and they actualy are just mixed bags at best.
Reply
like the fact that today, as the piece points out, twice as many people think america is headed in the right direction compared to one year ago.
like the fact that 60% think america will be better off in three years, the end of Obama's first term.
like the fact that the word most used by respondents last year to describe Obama was "inexperienced" while this year the word most chosen to describe obama was "intelligent."
(a word no one ever used to describe bush)
and most of the people interviewed are decidedly still in wait-and-see mode. as they should be.-

The article also says "Confidence in Obama's ability to deliver on his campaign promises has eroded, especially on domestic issues. A majority of those surveyed now say his administration won't be able to control federal spending or improve the health care system. The biggest decline has been on his pledge to ease the nation's fierce partisanship: A year ago, 54% said he would be able to "heal political divisions"; now only 28% say so." Not such a good thing with mid-terms coming up.
"like the fact that 60% think america will be better off in three years, the end of Obama's first term"
It also quotes a voter as saying "(Loan interest) rates are still low, but it all comes down to jobs. If you don't have a job, you can't make the payment." He says foreclosures are up from a year ago.
"like the fact that the word most used by respondents last year to describe Obama was "inexperienced" while this year the word most chosen to describe obama was "intelligent."

First off, there is a difference between being intelligent and having common sense. Anyone can sit in college classes for 4 years and speak as if they are intelligent. Obama has not shown any common sense to date. And before you say it, let me quote your comeback, "Neither did Bush". I'm not talking about Bush, the article is about Obama, so that excuse does not work here. Now, the quote after the one you picked goes on to say "Change," the second most common word last fall, dropped out of the top 10. "Socialist" moved up to No. 3.". It's pretty bad if part of his campaign slogan does not even get recognized in the top 10.
See, I can cherrypick too. -

Unfortunately for Liberty lovers, the change is slight with regard to philosophy of government (more spending, more debt, more control, more war, more destruction of the economy and prosperity, more violations of rights). The most noticeable change is in degree. Obama and the Democrats are outspending the Republicans 3 or 4 to 1 and rapidly advancing the takeover of the private sector.
