Chicago, Illinois - Local gun shop owners say they’re seeing an increase in the number of women shoppers right now. The reasons, they say, are many, including the downturn in the economy and violence on the street. According to the National Shooting Sports Foundation, about 48 percent of people taking their first handgun seminars this year happen to be women.

      The number of men, as opposed to the number of "boys", has changed dramatically in the last decade. Women have to deal with the lack of character in the "males" they have to deal with.

        Women, as well as men have to come to terms as to willingness, because when it comes down to protecting life, limb and property,it's the perp or you. If you're not willing to use that gun, you have no business owning one.

          I think this is great. A woman who can and will protect herself is pretty darn sexy. But don't just buy the gun, learn how to use it, and practice, practice, practice. See you at the range ladies.
