Sorry. If you work for a private company, you have to follow their rules regarding clothing / pins / et cetera. Otherwise you're out of a job. Now if he'd simply been wearing a cross around his neck (and under his shirt) or a star of David or whatever.. Then it might be constitutionally sticky.

Great news! Too many people in this country think that they have the right to violate other people's rights by forcing their beliefs on others. People, your religion is private. The reason stuff like this happens is because far to many of you are insistant on pushing your religion on other people. I find that shameful.

He forced his religious beliefs on you with a button? You are a complete weenie straight from Oscar Meyer. You say, "Your religion is private". Does that mean that all churches, synagogue's, temples etc., should be banned from sight? If you drive by a Catholic church, are they pushing their religious beliefs on you? I find it shameful that you were given a brain but were not given the sense to use it.

The store is private property and has the right to enforce a dress code for it's employees. I have to wonder, however, what they might be allowing other employees to wear and why did it take them more than a year to try to make him take it off. I think NoWayMan might be on it, that they had other reasons to want him gone and used the button to get rid of him.
