Man working on furnace lights cigarette, levels home »

Toronto - Three people were badly burned when their west end home was levelled by a gas explosion. The massive fire may have been triggered when a person working on the home’s furnace lit a cigarette, according to initial reports from investigators at the scene. Toronto firefighters were called around 9:50 p.m. to the house at 39 Amesbury Dr., southwest of Keele St. and Lawrence Ave. W., and by the time they arrived on the scene it was fully engulfed in flames.

    If this is true, then surely a Darwin Award Honorable Mention beckons for the guy who just couldn't wait to get outside to light up...

    It's the other innocents who suffered that I feel sorry for :(
