The Suiss will have to prevent 'suicide tourism' and a commercialisation of suicide assistance. Germany has, for historical reasons, relatively strict laws concerning 'Euthanasie'. Many deathly ill people don´t see another exit from their suffering than going to Switzerland for their last few days. Especially Dignitas is doing a lot of PR in the neighbor countries to recruit possible 'clients'. If patients had better access to a sufficient medication against their pain, if palliative treatment became more normal and subject of education at our universities, many desperate patients wouldn´t chose assisted suicide, but a life with dignity till the very end.
