Known to the Ottawa Indians as Wendigo, known to the French men as Loup Garou, and known as Dogman today. Is it a cryptid?

"The Dogman of Michigan".. The Bray Road Beast" ..."The Beast of Gevaudan" to name a few...could such lupine monsters exist in reality? Large, & viscous human-like bipedal canines? Or were they just mere fabrications of the human mind in all it's historical significance. Could so many witness's be exaggerating, or wrong about the same thing? I'll ponder this under a full moon.
