People who ate or drank more than 74 grams per day of fructose (2.5 sugary soft drinks per day) increased their risk of developing high blood pressure.

    There is a great deal more about HFCS then this article states. High fructose corn syrup is something the food industry come up with in the early 70s. Where this article says that consumption is up 30% over 20 years ago, another way of looking at it is that 20 or 30 years ago, no human was capable of drinking a full 2 liter bottle of soda, now it's not a problem to do so. It blocks insulin receptors, which is what tells your body it is full. If you never feel full, you eat more, so the companies sell more food.

    The FDA has approved this stuff as being safe, because it does not cause cancer or other illnesses. But, it is probably the biggest factor in obesity and illnesses out there.

    If you check food labels, you will notice it in almost everything. I read somewhere that if it appears somewhere lower on the list of ingredients, and the sugar content is lower then 2%, then that is a safe level.
