Islands have always been masters of creating such a good time that we forget just how moving and heartbreaking the lyrics underneath can be. On Vapours , that penchant for mixing the dance beat with the heart beat is even further explored, with some of the most cathy melodies of their career mixed with some of their more depressing lyrics ever. With many bands, this dichotomy might mean disaster, but the Islands are such skilled musicians that it pays off in spades.
