Posted By capj71 3 weeks, 3 days ago in Political NewsRush Limbaugh was the featured guest on Fox News Sunday today, where he ended the interview by making the prediction that there will be a voter revolt against Barack Obama and the Democratic Party, which will make Obama a one term president. However, when asked what Republican will defeat Obama, Limbaugh couldn’t name anyone.

" Obama was more of a drug addict that Limbaugh "
Reply
Really? I din't recall Obama hiring his housekeeper to help him buy drugs. I don't recall him bringing any back from mexico!
I guess he had the rest of us fooled.
Certainly a good thing you told us about this homemade fact, or we would have never known it! -

I don't really have a problem with Rush's former drug addiction. It happens to a lot of people. What I objected to was his blatant hypocrisy of vilifying drug addicts during the same time period he was experiencing his little 'problem'.

And all the libs thought he would die in ratings after Clinton won. Just can't seem to understand the man says what he believes and those who personally know him say he is the same on or off the air. That is part of the reason for his success. -

I know 2 people who voted for Obama. They will not do so again. Of the people that I have talked to in my daily travels that voted for Obama, only one (so far) was still hope full about Obama. None of these people feel that Obama will be re-elected. Not a proper poll I know.

Weather you like the man or not, or simply disagree with the direction he is taking the country, or would like to take the country, Obama will not be re-elected, as of right now. Things could happen that could change that. There are always unforeseen events. But don't hold your breath.-

My only problem with Obama is that he is not leftist enough. Quite a few of my Democrat friends are of the same opinion. We were expecting someone more populist.

Have you (and slate) asked your friends why they are disappointed in Obama? I don't think their answers will be "He's just too liberal. I really wanted someone more like Bush."

This prediction is easy if you keep looking at the polls. Down Obama goes faster than Bush or anyone else at this point. The Gallup poll recently asked people what they are.

Democrats 20%
Moderates 36%
Republicans 40%
Poor libs are losing ground fast.-

Lesser evilism will be Obama's friend.

The Republican Party will snatch defeat from the jaws of victory by running another freakshow candidacy as they did in 2008.
People will vote for Obama even if they are retching while they do so. -

Also interesting is that most all of the Sunday AM "news" shows have politicians as guests, both left and right. I don't have a scorecard to know who exactly was on what this week but Fox chooses an "entertainer". That "entertainer" is then given half an hour to spout his political views, nothing about entertainment. Why would all the other news shows have politicians to discuss politics and Fox chooses an "entertainer" to discuss politics.

Really two parts to this question. One is whether Prez O might not be renominated by his party. And the other is if he is renominated, can a Repub beat him? Just a little early to be speculating on either IMHO. But anyway-- I can see Mr. Obama being a one-termer by virtue to some revolt within the Dems. So far he does not appear to be a favorite with his "liberal" wing. And a sitting Prez, rightly or wrongly, always gets blamed for all evil that happens when he is in offfice.
Reply
The other part of the question is whether there is anyone whom Rush would endorse who could beat either a renominated Prez O or someone else the Dems could put forth. I tend to be much more skeptical on this. And those who might have electoral success have about the proverbial snowball's chance of being endorsed by Rush.
My impression is that Rush knows much better what he's against than what he's for. Not uncommon really; but it doesn't make for good alliances. This kind of factor could get Prez O renominated just as easily. -

And I guess if Rush Limbaugh says it, it's gospel...just look how accurate he's been so far? I mean, wasn't he a big supporter of Sarah Palin too? lol and we all know how well she's worked out for the Republican party. Heck, she's so popular that her offer to "help" her fellow Republicans with the upcoming elections brought a unified "No thank you" from all of them.
Reply
Yeah.....Rush sure has his finger on the pulse of the current GOP and it's constituency these days, huh?-

He also said that the Republicans would be best to run the country, How did that turn out. He also supported invading Iraq, How did that turn out? He has basically supported everything that has taken this country to ruin. Why does anyone listen to him anymore?

I half-way agree Dop but Fox did invite the "entertainer" on to what is considered a "news/opinion" show to talk about politics. Not a minute about entertainment, his alleged domain. On the other hand most everything he says is stupid enough to be kinda funny so, hard choice.

With any kind of luck what-so-ever, we can get a lot of these mindless liberal Democrats out of office and maybe do a little research into Obama the Great and he'll wind up incarcerated and we won't have to put up with him for his full term.

Maybe you would like Bush/Cheney and the false "Unitary Executive" to rule again, and their lies, torture, wars for profit, corporate controlled, hateful, anti-American Neocons to rape Lady Liberty some more?

Is this really all the better we can do? We're going to "debate" the assertions of Rush Limbaugh? Remember please, that this is a man (much like his ideological opposite Bill Mahar) who makes a living out of being controversial.
Reply
And so what? If President Obama is a one term President, is that really what matters? We know basically nothing about what is going to be important three years from now. Remember, President Bush the Younger was a nobody for the first nine months of his Presidency. And arguably not much more than that afterward.
