It includes simple procedures such as taking care when cooking, not leaving candles burning, and turning domestic fires off. The obvious factors such as having smoke alarms and CO alarm installed, checking them regularly, and replacing the batteries every year. However, the most overlooked procedure, and arguably one of the most important, is having a well executed escape plan for the whole family to learn. If the unthinkable happens, it could mean the difference between life and death.
