Ford October Sales Up 3.1% »

Ford Motor Co. said its October U.S. auto sales rose 3.1 percent, the third gain in four months, after the industry rebounded from the drop in demand that followed the government’s so-called cash for clunkers program.

The total including the Volvo brand increased to 136,920 cars and trucks from 132,838 a year earlier, the Dearborn, Michigan-based automaker said in a statement today. That beat analysts’ estimates.
