"The commission’s report lacks context. It does not take account of the nature of Israel’s enemy – operating from the midst of civilian populations, committed to Israel’s destruction, and fully supported by state actors Iran and Syria. (In fact, it is rather dismissive of claims that Hamas operated from amidst civilian populations.) The report generally gives short shrift to Hamas’ relentless rocket attacks on Israeli civilians, over a period of eight years, which precipitated the war."

A key question ignored by the Goldstone committee is how a modern state is supposed to defend it's civilians against rockets fired from inside heavily populated areas.-

Of course Americans should be aware that honest Israelis are condemning our Congress for this action. Frankly a whole bunch of politicians just demonstrated that they do not have the moral integrity to be representatives of the American people.

Enough already of supporting massive zionist crimes against humanity. Time to weed the israel-first traitors out of our government, media and politics.
Israelis Criticize US Congress for Supporting Netanyahu on Goldstone Report
The House is expected to overwhelmingly vote today to condemn a UN inquiry that found Israel committed scores of war crimes in its three-week assault on the Gaza Strip. Headed by the South African jurist Richard Goldstone, the inquiry also accused Hamas of war crimes and said both sides should investigate the allegations or face international prosecution. Over 1,300 Palestinians were killed in the Israeli attack, a majority of them civilians. Nine Israelis were killed by Palestinians and another four by so-called friendly fire. The bipartisan, non-binding House measure calls the Goldstone inquiry "irredeemably biased and unworthy of further consideration or legitimacy." The vote comes one day before the United Nations General Assembly is expected to take up the inquiry's findings. [includes rush transcript].
.... JEFF HALPER: Yeah, I just came from the United States, and I just came from a week of meeting with members of Congress and the administration in Washington.
You know, it’s very—it’s very distressing, of course, because in the entire world, Israel relies on the United States as really its only—only firm supporter. The United States is the patron of Israel. But it’s not really the administration—it’s Congress—that’s Israel’s trump card. That is, Israel says it can circumvent the President; it can circumvent the administration by going directly to Congress. And Netanyahu works the phones all the time with Congress. So, in a sense, it’s a kind of divide and rule.
And when I was in Congress, I was telling members of Congress, “You have to understand that you’re being used by Israel as a kind of a—as a trump card against your own administration, preventing the American government from presenting a coherent policy speaking in one voice.” And I think that you really see that, that, in a way, it’s under—I would consider that a gross violation of the internal—you know, a gross, you know, intervention in the internal affairs of the United States, which would seem to me should get all members of Congress upset, no matter what their stand is.

When the UN says something Israel likes we will hear about it forever. But when the UN issues a report that is not 100% pro Israel the accusations of anti-Israel and anti-semitic start flying.

It was obvious when Israel excluded reporters from Gaza that they had a lot to hide. And the pleas for help from the Palestinians show they want the world to witness what is happening. It's very obvious that Israel has a lot to hide.
It only takes one guess to figure out that anyone who fails to support this bill by Berman will have their name on the anti-Israel list just like they did with Ron Paul. The neocons will all support Berman, hopefully many real conservatives will take a stand against Berman.-

Simply substitute "UN" with "The Press" and the word "Israel" with the word "Republicans" and the word "semitic" with the word "American". SPIN SPIN SPIN and LIE.

Had Hamas put as much effort into achieving peace with Israel as it did with fostering war with rocket attacks upon Israel Gaza would be a welcome new Palestinian state in the region. Israel left Gaza in 2005 as an experiment in peace with the Palestinians. They not only took their settlers with them, they left the world's most technologically advanced greenhouses for the Gaza people to use to help feed themselves. Israel could have destroyed them, they chose not to. Rather than use the greenhouses as an effective tool, the Palestinians destroyed them in one day. Rather than take the opportunity to create a viable, working Palestinian economy, infrastructure and governing body with the welfare of the people in mind, Hamas was allowed to take control. If anything that I have said is untrue, then let's hear it. Israel did not impose a closing of the borders until Hamas took over control of Gaza. The wall surrounding Gaza was a direct result of the intifada and did not exist before the intifada took place. Had Gaza used the Israeli withdrawl properly with peace in mind, the wall would no longer exist, or at least it would be considerably more porous. The Goldstone report doesn't take into account that Israel did indeed leave Gaza intact and with technology, electricity, sewage treatment plants and water purification plants all owned and run by Israel for the benefit of the Gaza people. Not until Hamas took over and started firing rockets into Israel did Israel limit the electricity and control the border crossings. It was never a consideration of the Goldstone report that Israel Withdrew from Gaza but continued to supply all needed utilities and services until the rockets began to reign down on Israeli cities. Israel isn't the enemy and it's obvious by it's continuation to support the Gaza territory after its withdrawl. Name a single instance when the Palestinians have ever given Israel equal consideration in anything.

berman is more concerned with a foreign nation than he is with the one he lives in. his history in this regard is consistent and covers many years.

anyone who has paid attention to these issues and takes the time to read both goldstone's report and berman's reply will have an easy task in deciding who pays his check.-

right in what he says.
Do you have any evidence that Berman wrote what he wrote because he got
paid for writing it? Can you not believe that somebody can honestly and
unselfishly have point of view that differs from yours? -

I agree with almos_vagyok. Give us tangible proof of your allegations that Berman is more concerned with a foreign nation than he is with America. Likewise, give tangible proof that he is being paid by Israel. I think Mr. Berman could well find that slanderous and libelous. Unless you have real proof, I would suggest that you not make statements that you can't back up.

United States is the biggest terrorist in the world that supports Israel crimes and encourages them each time the massacre they Palestinians and reward them with more money and weapons plus unqualified support. United States and the Zionists must be ashamed to criticize Goldstone report on the Israeli crimes. It is time America black list the Zionist Americans as the terrorist organization. America is paying for it sins around the world for supporting Israeli criminals.
