The poll is running over 80% in favor of Fox. Not scientific, but pretty revealing nevertheless.

The game is over, and the White House lost big time. Alinsky must be rolling in his grave over Team Obama's inept use of his "Rules For Radicals" against Fox. -

Makes this one tough, huh Klarissa?
But at the moment 84% like Fox better. -

I don't see a "war" at all. What I see is the President, who is a US citizen, stating his opinion and exercising his right to free speech and Fox sensationalizing a few statements as an all out attack. He has not made any suggestion whatsoever that Fox can't speak their opinion and has proposed no policy that would take that right away. But hey,I'm just stating my opinion so commence with the negs...and see if it changes my opinion at all.

Read the First Amendment with the following definition of abridge in mind;
Reply
abridge;
1 a archaic : deprive b : to reduce in scope : diminish
2 : to shorten in duration or extent
3 : to shorten by omission of words without sacrifice of sense : condense
Please note Definiton 1. It is probably the definition the founding fathers had in mind during the late 1700's when the Constitution was written.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
It basically states that Congress cannot abridge the freedom of speech or of the press. It says nothing about the President not trying to abridge the freedom of speech, which if he does through actual actions against the press such as what Nixon tried to do, places him above Congress, the First Amendment and the law.
However The 0 Man's opinion is just that, an opinion, and should be taken as such. Now what people 'do' with that opinion is another 'issue' entirely.
I've noted that Fox has a definite opinion about The 0 Man, so as a 'ex mea sententia' 0Bama can have an opinion about Fox via the First Amendment, which he has stated 'that they, FNC, are a source of opinion not a source of unbiased news as he, 0Bama, understands unbiased news' and, in his opinion, be ignored. Yet 0Bama, basically by the Constitution, cannot do anything legally with out the consent of Congressional legislation,( which, like Nixon, if that happened, would usurp the Constitution and therefore be illegal.) to abridge FNC's Constitutional right to free speech, which includes opinion, in the 'archaic sense' of the word 'abridge'.

Fox is just a Republican propaganda machine. IMO Fox is irrelevant and not worth the channel space it consumes on my cable television. I would rather see my cable company replace the Fox News channel with another QVC or local programming.

Neither Greta Susteren nor John Stossel conduct themselves as "Republican propaganda machine[s]". Beck and O'Reilly do play to a plank playbook, as do Chris Matthews and Keith Olberman. But people don't demonize CNN or MSNBC because of the ideologues who have shows on their networks.

If you don't like Fox, don't watch it.

It is stunning to see such a lopsided result for a poll run by a "news" outlet that features programming that emanates from a zeitgeist that runs the spectrum from hard left to a very grudgingly articulated center.
Reply
Granted the poll is not scientific. However, if you give it a margin of error that is plus or minus 25%, the result remains stunning!-

The result of this poll if true? is a tribute to the asinine dumbed down Usa population. Its enough to make a preacher puke. I for one believe we should shut down all the schools in America , because it is evident that the people have learned nothing in all these years.just money thrown away.

The "geniuses" in the WH obviously don't understand the blatant stupidity of picking on FOX or any other news media. I may buy shares of FOX stock because I know their value goes every day this goes on. Keep up the good work liberals.

Does anybody know if this poll was mentioned on hate radio or fake news? I find it a little hard to believed that NPR listeners who are probably the most intelligent of all radio listeners would really be 84% in favor of fox. I think this is more likely a PR stunt to get more conservative talk radio listeners to the NPR website and then get them to listen to NPR. The poll is very poorly worded regardless.

you can vote as many times as you want. so its worthless.

the only thing this survey proves is that cons have much more free time on their hands.
and your PR stunt theory is probably the closest thing to a true statement on this entire thread. -

I listen to NPR and I think it's ridiculous for the White House to black ball any news station. They'd do better to take the high road and just ignore what they disagree with or don't want to hear and not give it fuel for the fire. Other networks also refused to buy into the White House black-balling, partly because some of them have been mistreated earlier by administrations.
Reply
I think it's a dark day when a White House believes it needs to behave this way.

If you believe that Fox News is a legimate "Fair & Balanced" news organization, then you would most likely be correct if you lived in opposite world.

Fighting for nothing, folks. Facts are what facts are, and all the bloviating in the world isn't going to change them. This is not an official poll, just one thrown up for fun and makes no difference in the real world whatsoever.

If the vote counted, I'd vote for Fox News any day. The numbers feel good, though, don't they? -

Fox is number 1 over all others combined and the others should take notice and actually do some serious investigative reporting of the current administrations agenda without their obvious bias.....or keep sucking hind tit in the ratings....you decide.

All current and past actions can be compressed into Obamas's own words. Everything else is just show. from his book Audacity of Hope [ " I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction".] The Muslim world knows he is one of theier own. As Pogo might have observed. "We have seen the enemy and he is in the White House" How many red flares must go up before we see the enemy is at the gate?????????

Here's the actual quote in context:
Reply
"Of course, not all my conversations in immigrant communities follow this easy pattern. In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific assurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."
How ironic that you post a deceptively altered quote out of context when we're talking about a News organization that frequently does the same thing.
