Colorado Ski Town Legalizes Pot »

DENVER — The Colorado ski town of Breckenridge has voted overwhelmingly to legalize marijuana.
Early returns Tuesday night showed the proposal winning with 72 percent of the vote. The measure would allow adults over 21 to have up to 1 ounce of marijuana.
The measure is largely symbolic because pot possession remains a state crime for people without medical clearance. But supporters said they wanted to send a message to local law enforcement to stop busting small-time pot smokers.
The vote comes as communities nationwide are struggling with how to enforce pot laws at a time when medical marijuana has surged in popularity.

Actually, FairNBalanced, if you knew what you were talking about, if you were informed, if you had a clue and were knowledgeable on the subject, you would know that the active chemical in Cannabis, THC, was actually beneficial to the human brain. It kills and/or stunts the growth of cancer cells. It also is related to a chemical produced within the human brain itself as well as chemical receptors to receive it. The LIE about it killing brain cells is just that...a LIE that only stupid and/or ignorant and uninformed individuals still cling to. Oh yeah, THC also has been shown to slow and stunt Alzheimer's. It is also known to reduce seizures.

The word "canna",which described the cannabis plant was one of the first words in the oldest written language discovered because of the importance of that plant to society.To this day it is the root of several words including "canvas" which the sails of the discoverers of America were made of.
