The CBO estimated the number of uninsured at around 30 million. This Mr. Miller apparently likes to use only some of the CBO's stats.

An estimate that I saw in relation to the 1300 page Democratic bill said that 25 million would remain uninsured in the year 2019. One estimate for the 1990 page offering was that 19 million would remain uninsured by 2019.-

The 25 million estimate was from the CBO in relation to the Baucus bill:

The 19 million was from an article I read a few days ago in relation to the 1990 page bill. That's the one being voted on in a few days, right? I can't find the article for that one right now. I have been reading too many critiques of too many bills in the last few days. I'll try to find it and PM it to you.

lovemylibs, if you follow the links I gave a few comments down to PDFs of the actual CBO analyses of both the Democratic bill and the proposed Republican amendments, you'll find that they estimate 18 million left uninsured by the Democratic bill (about a third of which are undocumented immigrants) vs. 52 million left uninsured by the suggested Republican amendments.

Thanks Beau7890. I knew I had read a figure of around 19 million to remain uninsured after 10 years for the new Democratic version of the bill. That's the one we should be analyzing since, as your article states, the Republican version has no chance of passing.
