President Obama: One Year After Winning it All - Rasmussen Reports™ »
Posted By FairNBalanced 1 month, 1 week ago in Political NewsNot surprisingly, 74% of voters now view the president as politically liberal. Just 33% believe the stimulus package has helped, and most opposed other economic initiatives including the takeover of General Motors and the cash-for-clunkers program. Among the priorities established by the president, voters consistently see deficit reduction as the most important but least likely to be achieved.

The president himself remains more popular than his policies. That gives him some good will to draw upon. However, as was shown in yesterday’s election results, the president’s ability to help other Democratic politicians may be limited.

As far as I could see, what the voters voted against was right-wing fanatics (attractive to see that "conservative" districts with a century of supporting the GOP strongly rejected the nutcase wing of the GOP) and those connected with the "corrupt oligarch class", which exists in both parties. Just imagine Bloomberg in having to spend $100 million out of his own pocket to eke out a close win in NYC! Sure would be good if the other "oligarchs" have to fork out massive sums in their incestuous manipulation of our government - would help in ending the "revolving door" corruption between government and both the "military-industrial" scams and the "financial oligarch" scams that cost we Americans so dearly.

One of the biggest problems Obama has is he never learned what the job of President of the United States entailed. He was just the one and never thought beyond being adored and idolized. I guess he just thought his popularity would make all things possible after all he did become President by just being wonderful. Obama is one of those folks who got what they wanted and then had no idea what to do with it.

About 40% of Americans will vote a straight Republican slate. There is also a 40% for Democrat slates. The trick is managing the middle 20%.

What Obama briefly managed to do was to create a larger Indpendent community, but he got them mostly from Republicans who were 1) tired of Bush Republicanism and/or 2) wanted to be part of voting in the first black president.
Those Independents are now his strongest opponents, and it continues to get worse. His Democrat coalition of environmentalists, academics, militant blacks, and assorted hangers-on is fracturing, and he cannot seem to move the ball forward. He is coming across as a good speaker who cannot lead and make real decisions.
I point to this: Democrats control both houses of Congress and the Executive, and he is STILL foundering. -

here is what will pick those numbers right up:

immediately shutdown guantanamo bay and all the other torture camps that we've set up around the globe. Put them on trial. If they are guilty, then put them in jail. If they are not, then fly and their families to whatever country will take them.
acting as a commander in chief, fire general mcchrystal or any other general that does not support the decision to completely withdrawal from the middle east.
radically cut government spending, starting with the military. no more free press for merely shutting down the expenditure of a few military jets. start cutting some real fat.
audit the federal reserve.
fire PNAC and Federal Reserve cabinet members, including bush appointees, and timothy giethner for contributing to the biggest economic defrauding that the world has ever seen.
End the Patriot Act.
Offer the Health Care plan as an amendment to the Constitution, instead. If the states pass it, good. If they don't, even better. At least by pursuing the avenue legally, he would be a huge step forward in restoring the Constitution that the last administration managed to trample.-

Valuable points. Unfortuantely Obama is so far doing pretty much the opposite of what you suggest. Just imagine INCREASING the defense budget even beyond Bush's wild militarism.

I might add that McChrystal should be fired for treason. What is a US General doing running off to ZionCons to get them to write his "report" for the President? Obama should fire him for treason and insubordination. Petraeus is another who is bordering on treason with the ZionCons and should go if he steps even minimally over the mark.

Presidential Approval Index: Bush -30
Reply
In the final full month of his Presidency, just 13% of American adults said they Strongly Approved of the way that George W. Bush performed his job as president. Forty-three percent (43%) Strongly Disapproved. That gives the President a -30 rating on the Presidential Approval Index (daily updates are available along with ratings of the President-elect).
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/pol...
Overall, 35% say that they at least somewhat approve of way the President has handled his job. That’s unchanged from November and among the lowest monthly ratings ever earned by the President.
Bush’s overall approval rating had never fallen below 35% before April of this year. However, it has now been below that level for six of the last nine months.
The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who Strongly Disapprove from the number who Strongly Approve. Rasmussen Reports believes that this is a better measure of public perceptions than the overall approval ratings. The Index is updated daily for both President Bush and President-elect Obama. Obama’s ratings are currently based upon the way he is handling the role of President-elect.
Over the summer, economic concerns and the health care debate cost the president support among unaffiliated voters. By October, a month-by-month review showed that Obama’s overall job approval had slipped to 48% among Likely Voters. -

"Whereas virtually every pollster other than Rasmussen has shown a majority of voters to prefer the Democrats (at this early point) in next year’s U.S. House elections, Rasmussen has been showing the Republicans in the lead (albeit with large percentages undecided)".
