This is not the first incident of this nature to occur in the military. Its a bit premature to ascribe any motives to this killing spree. The appropriate response in the early stages of such a tragedy is to refrain from scoring cheap political points and show a little restraint, discretion, dignity, and respect for those who still in the early stages of grieving.

An islamic soldier who is believed by the feds to have been the author of comments online praising suicide bombers kills 12 soldiers and wounds dozens more. What a damn shame.

Thankfully his ass (Nadal Malik Hasan)is not dead (as the headline reads) so we can get some info out of him. Hows about some EIT's now???

        I will state again.

Americans have been killed on US soil, by a lunatic Major who went wacko.

It is not the time to condemn all Muslims for the act of one lone loon.

Nor is it the time to try to stir up political hatred or religious hatred.

It is a time to pray for the wounded, the dead and the families of all involved, including the loony tune, who committed the cowardly deeds.

His act of hatred if it was indeed an act of a sane person, should be punished by the death penalty.

If it was an act of terrorism against the US, it was by one of her own citizens. We should punish that citizen not all who are Muslim, or Arabic.

We have gone to war which is directly responsible for this act, does it not speak to the insanity of trying to defeat terrorism with more terrorism ???

All well and good except that the good US major was responsible for posts like the following expressing sympathy and praising suicide bombers...

"To say that this soldier committed suicide is inappropriate. It's more appropriate to say he is a brave hero that sacrificed his life for a more noble cause..."

Now I realise that in the USA there's such a thing as Freedom of Speech, but this guy was under investigation for beliefs sympathising with the enemy for a while before he carried out this attack. Where does your right of free speech end? Surely this should have had alarm bells ringing and the guy should have been suspended pending investigation.

If it had, maybe those 12 men would still be alive today.

Let's see--"soldiers open fire..." They didn't, he was shot by a civilian cop. One. "Shot dead..." uhhh, don't think so. Sorry, but why bother reading a story with two massive mistakes in freaking intro! And it looks like some of the posters are displaying nothing more than some bigoted wishful thinking.
