Congress has debated providing adequate health care coverage to the people for over 60 years. The insurance industry would have us wait another 10 more years to discuss, debate, and stall reform measures. Republicans believe that is a great idea, because they take plenty of money in campaign contributions from health care companies. The Democrats are guilty too, which is another reason we have not seen as strong a bill as we could have.

Our nation is only as strong as its weakest individuals. If they are suffering and in pain, and if they cannot seek medical care due to lack of health insurance, then we are indeed a weak nation. Once this bill is approved in the Senate, perhaps our Congress can devote attention to another sector which needs considerable work, namely, education.
