    I feel sorry for the policeman and for the youth.

    I hope that he (the policeman) will not get into trouble now, by politicians or superiors who with the comfort of hind site will say, he should have .......

    Concerning the youth, he is lucky to have survived.
    Hopefully he will not be (too) disfigured, AND hopely, he will have learned a lesson (in the good sense and direction)
