I decided to give a place to go to review much information about the torture of Children of detainees, because I know that many Republican people will act as though it is just more liberal lying. Of course they won't go look up anything for themselves because the current Republican plan is just to impede, lie, or cover-up any foul deeds committed by their beloved heroes, Bush and the Neo-Con bunch.

Anyway, for anyone who is interested, go to this site where you can find a weeks worth of reading concerning torture, and yes the torture of children. I would recommend starting by googling "The Strange Story of Asfia Siddiqui". Then follow links from there or go to Freedetainees.org.

Anyone who can read these reports of torture, torture of children, renditions, and just plain disappearances from U S custody with current whereabouts unknown and not see something wrong with the Bush Administration and the continuance of those horrid practices by Obama, must not be a moral human being.

Ironically a survey of Fundamentalist Preachers early this year showed that the majority of those Preachers supported the actions of Bush. Either they don't have a clue of what has been going on or their self labeling as Christians is misplaced.

Do you consider freedetainees a valid, unbiased, provable source?

        Klarissa

If you had gone to the sites I asked you to start with, lets just say "The Strange Story of Aafia Siddiqui" , you would have found 5,120 links about this case. At 20 links per page you will find 257 Pages of links. Some of those links are to Freedetainees.org. Over 95% are not. Does that mean anything to you?

Just to prove me wrong, would you go to that site and make a list of every source on there ( there will be a couple of thousand different sources ), and just read a few. Would you do that in the interest of TRUTH?

Pick out a dozen different sources you want to challenge THEN lets start a debate about whether Aafia Siddiqui and her children have disappeared ( the youngest child was 9 months old ) and she and her children were last known to have been in CIA custody. They claim no knowledge of her and her children.
But if you start there go anywhere from that first link. And while reading this you will notice the other atrocities mentioned in this article.

I gave you the Freedetainees.org link because there must be a thousand sources quoted from off that first link. Newspapers, Media, Blogs, etc.

Klarissa, I don't really want to demean you, but you are the epitome of what I mean when I write about apologist for that war criminal Bush and his accomplices in crime - his Neo-Con buddies.

Just for your own edification, why don't you follow this story through? If you do and then realize that all this immoral and murderous activity did go on, what would you do, remain silent or acknowledge that war crimes have been committed by our Bush Administration?

I had been a Republican for all my voting life until I started seeing the evil of the Bush Administration ( about three months after 9/11). I know it is not popular to Republicans to hear what a monster Bush and his bunch were, but if you know of their immorality and don't acknowledge that it is true, then what does that say about your morality? And for that matter your honesty?

Sometimes our perceived heroes are not really heroes.

Actually Cham, the "fundamentalists" have been off in la-la land ever since they helped kill 300,000 christians (and make another million refugees - many of whom ended up here) during the Reagan administration. Our corporate media doesn't tell us such things, but ever since then the "fundamentalists" have been doing business with drug dealers, illegal arms dealers, extreme right-wing death squads,......

To understand when and where the GOP really went astray, this is an excellent article:

        Testament of the Death Squads
        Good Christ, Bad Christ

...Well before neocons teamed up with the Religious Right to fight radical Islam in what the former believes is WW IV and the latter prays is Armageddon, they honed their fighting skills against another “political religion:” Liberation Theology, Latin America’s Christian socialism which fought against US-backed military juntas and sought to achieve social justice through a redistribution of wealth. Two decades before Gibson’s bloodied and tortured body of Christ became a symbol of a united New Right, the diverse strains of America’s conservative movement came together over the bloodied and tortured bodies of Central Americans.

Starting in the 1960s, conservative evangelical theologians such as John Price and Jerry Falwell....

.... Over the next ten years, as a direct result of US policy, more than three hundred thousand Central Americans, many of them devout Christians, would be killed and tortured, and over a million driven into exile. In a way, the New Right’s crusade in Central America was a preview .... and is today on world tour in Boykin’s Abu Ghraib and the killing fields of Iraq and now Lebanon.

Unfortunately the Dems have been infected with too much of the "economic" and "militaristic" corruption of the GOP and also need a thorough house cleaning.

As usual Hyper, you state the problem clearly and factually.

Those three hundred thousands are just Central America. Since WWII, it has been millions around the world. I think the Religious Right really believe that they are on a mission from God ( ala Rod Parsley ) to rid the world of the non-believers.

Unfortunately the RR defines non-believers as those who do not share their "Revelation".

Hyper, what truly bothers me about the RR and Republicans in the U S is that they couldn't care less about America, although defense of American values is their rallying cry, their real goal and the "mission" is for the RR to lead the world into Armageddon and the Neo-Con mission is to enlist the aid of the fanatic RR in their quest to build World Empire, and not a Democracy or Republic.

People like Klarissa don't believe that their bunch are capable of committing the immoral and unethical acts many point to, and flatly deny any murderous activity took place because "It was to make us safe". Don't you know the Neo-Cons love them.

And as in this thread, Klarissa is not going to review any of the material I suggested she examine. And I think she won't because she doesn't want to have to face thousands of examples of her heroes misbehavior.

If she saw the light, she would have a decision to make - do like me and turn away from the immoral and unethical, or become a knowing immoral, unethical, supporter of everything she probably thinks is wrong.

Party loyalty is killing this nation.
