The Republican Party Has Failed – And That’s Not Good For Anyone »
Posted By ameliog 2 weeks ago in Political OpinionIt's no coincidence that voters give Republicans such abysmal ratings. The Republican party stands for absolutely nothing other than the pursuit of power. For 30 years, the Republicans have claimed to stand for 3 things: (1) small government (2) family values and (3) strong national defense. They don't actually stand for any of these things, and it's not clear that they ever did.

For whatever failures conservatives have had in the past, they still did better than liberals would have done. The only time Republicans went wrong was when they lost sight of true conservative values like fiscal discipline and spending restraint. All Republicans have to do to make things right is return to their core principles. Liberals have a bigger problem: they don't even know what their core principles are.

What is interesting is that you seem to suggest that ignorance is worse than the hypocrisy of knowing what you are doing is wrong.

If you think that is the only issue with republicans, you are in a lot of trouble. There is virtually nothing conservative about the current republican party. They are as bad off as the democrats.

The Republican Plan seems to me to be that if they practice the statement of P. T. Barnum often enough, they can get back in the White House and in control of Congress.

What I see as the Republican plan is be against anything during this Administration so that maybe they can cause it to fail. Makes no difference whether this is bad for American or not, they do not have America's interests as their own. Their only focus is to get back in control.
Unfortunately for the Republicans, the people recall what happened the last time the Republicans were in control. Obama blew his chance to be a good President once he got into office. He became "Bush 2", not a good thing.
