There's another way to look at this....some push both ways...but at the same time...people are disappearing all over the place...the results of pushing cars, hydrocarbon items for generations ignoring the facts deliberately to avoid harming a dollar.

What is likely to generate more change, people lobbying a government to force change at the manufacturing level from a company that paid for the politicians campaign or people who stop buying that large energy consuming appliance in place of the one that only uses half? The authors arguments are defeatist, if this is how he approaches hocking up he would be shote down before he even spoke to the lady. Small things all add up, recycling takes a lot of reusable stuff out of already full landfill. Using public transportation if available lessons congested roads and saves gas not to mention frees up parking, it's not all about that Carbon Footprint. Buying green makes non green products less viable if enough people do change their buying habits.
