At least 3,500 Muslims are known to be across the military. An additional 283,000 service members have not identified themselves with any religious preference, meaning there could be more Muslims who do not describe themselves that way for military records. Hasan's personnel files did not identify him as Muslim, for example.

In the years since 9/11, the military has made extraordinary efforts to encourage Muslims to join its ranks. Last year, the Army announced a program to pay $150,000 as a signing bonus to Arabic speakers, for instance.

Haji is a term of honor for Islam.

But it is true that the term has been used negatively by American soldiers in Iraq. According to an Acquaintance of mine who has served a couple of tours in Iraq and is scheduled to go to Afghanistan in 2010, the term was used by he and others in his unit when speaking to Iraqis. It was used as an insult and was so received as such by the Iraqi people.

However, it was much better than some of the other words used to describe Iraqis - such as rag-heads, Sand *******, etc.

This type of treatment to a people who have been occupied, harassed, and otherwise mistreated for nothing other than being Iraqi. They don't take too kindly to this treatment since upwards of a million Iraqis by some estimates have been killed by the invading US and Allied forces, in a war started by the United States on false pretenses as an excuse to occupy a country, build permanent Military bases, steal their resources, and destroy their way of life.

The Depleted Uranium left behind from expended weaponry will continue to kill Iraqis and cause horrible birth defects for the next billion years so tomorrow won't be any better than yesterday for them.

That's why over 70% of Iraqis state that they were better off under the Dictatorship of Saddam Hussein. He would have died of old age in less than a hundred years. That's a pretty short time when compared to a billion.

But one thing that the Iraqis really hate about Saddam is all the sand he left behind from his wars. It is FULL of undepleted uranium you know. The most dangerous substance known to man because of the radioactivity. Neutrons from cosmic rays strike it and it fissions producing things like radioactive strontium which is attracted to the bones and can lead to bone cancer.

That Saddam was one evil guy.

However once the Sunnis of the country slaughter all the apostate Shia there will once again be be peace in Iraq. Unless the Iranians decide they want it.

And it is a little known fact but Nazi sympathizers were not welcome into the US Armed forces during WW2. But there was a lot of discrimination going on then all over. We are better than that now.

It must be recognised that the USA has declared war on all Muslims in the popular view of the USA.
