Shucks, triple M... I don't know if you were on Propeller immediately after President Obama was elected, at least in the form under which you are currently posting, but the consensus among liberals at that time was that Republicans wouldn't win any elections of any import in the next 40 years. An 18 point victory for a new Republican governor would have been impossible based on those hyperbolic predictions back then.

But they (Obama's administration) have misjudged just how far to the left of the country as a whole the Democratic base now resides—and so, rather than strengthen their own brand, they have inadvertently done wonders to build and unify the Republican Party.

What you fail to realize is that the republican hero Rove destroyed the party more than anyone else. He and his patsy are the ones who caused us all to realize how little the elephant party actually cares about the American people. They are more worried about being in power and will find any red herring to distract citizens from their mishandling of affairs. The flag-burning controversy? The gay marriage issue? Birthers?

But very few conservatives want to be known as republicans.
Don't confuse Ideology vs Party affiliation.

I want to agree but I have yet to see any true consensus on specifically what constitutes a "neocon". More often than not what I see described by one as characteristic of a neocon is used by another to describe what they consider despicably conservative – and in the majority of those cases, they seem ignorant of what is conservative..

Republicans are facing a demographic decline. They can all march in lockstep but unless they can attract women, gays, minorities(soon to be majorities), they're doomed. Women just recently outranked men as percentage of the work force, college graduates and some day soon income earners. What are women concerned with? Health care, education, clean environment. What part of that agenda have Republican received high marks on? The only thing the Republicans can count on at this point is a protest vote against Democrats. Their agenda sucks.

With all this Republican "winning" I can hardly stand it.

I think they should resurrect the "Joe the Plummer" bit. That helped the Dems get more seats.
... looking back on the McCain campaign... I get kinda sentimental.. wishing we could watch all that winning strategy play out.
Republican politics appeal to small minds who need to compensate for their insecurities by spreading and believing lies.
Remember good ole Jesse Helms... "blacks shouldn't vote" or "women need to stay at home"
Now they say "we can't provide health coverage, because people will sneak over the border to steal it."
These are Christians? -

conservative with a streak of libertarian here.the reason the republicans have been falling apart is because they are no different then the democrats.i did not vote in the last presidential election because i did not have a choice.aside from a few minor differences on foreign policy mcain and oboma may as well been the same person.i know many that did the same we just could not hold our nose and pull the lever.what happened this yr was someone figured this out.this could even be seen in the results in ny 23 ..the republican lost because she was a rino..she was tromped by someone who was complete unknown 30 days befor the election.important to note even though the dem won..he did it barely with only 49%

The Republicans only won in two elections were the Democratic candidates either ran horrible campaigns or bad records. This is not a mandate. Republicans have shown that they stand for nothing except opposition. They care nothing for the country and only for the party.
