"On a narrow partisan vote, the Democrats put their liberal, big government agenda ahead of the American people," Pence said. "If Democrats keep ignoring the American people, their party's going to be history in about a year."
Democrats argue that the races in Virginia and New Jersey turned on state issues rather than national concerns. They say victories in House races in New York and California are evidence that voters support their efforts to overhaul the nation's health care system. Both Democrats elected to the House on Tuesday voted for the health care bill.-

In a related article, Democrats say Republicans are putting their party ahead of fixing the health care problems in this country, with their "stop Obama health care reform at all costs" attitude.
In reality, probably a small percentage of our elected leaders have the needs and desires of the people in mind, on both sides.

I hadn't voted for a Republican or Democratic governor for 16 years. But I couldn't resist the temptation this year to vote for Chris Christie. It was a "two-fer."

In NJ, we had to get rid of the high-tax, high spending Democrat Corzine and the added incentive was to demonstrate that we, in NJ, are opposed to the insane borrowing and spending by the federal government.
On the radio each day were people, both Democrat and Republican, who didn't want to see their children and grandchildren burdened with a tremendous state and national debt and deprived now because their parents couldn't afford to care for them as they wanted.
The Republicans have found "political religion," once again. Let's see them dedicate themselves to the Libertarian principles they always spout when running for office. They should be aware that there's a third-party movement growing out of the TEA parties, based on the Constitution. We're not depending on the Republicans to save anyone, let alone themselves. Our votes next year against the Democrats will not necessarily mean we will vote Republican.-

galt, you are exactly right. I am a former Republican. Quit them after the last election. If they will not represent me, I will not vote for them or give them money. My take on them is that they have been too weak, have allowed Democrats to get away with shenanigans you or I would be in prison for. Republicans don't know how to fight, and our ranks were being overrun with RINOs who primarily use up wxygen that someone else could put to good use.

I find my self leaning toward Libertarian, though there's a plank or two I'm in disagreement with. I will never vote for a liberal or a Democrat (one and the same), and I will never work for a Republican unless he is staunchly conservative.
Regardless who votes how, this runaway Congress must be stopped before they taint every aspect of our offices. This "legislation" is one of the most oppresive pieces of law I have ever known in my 70 years. It helps me understand how the Jews in Germany must have felt with Hitler in power..
