Is this the high-water mark for ObamaCare? »
Posted By pc25 1 week, 4 days ago in Political OpinionThe Democrats wheedled, cajoled, begged, and finally abandoned its defense of abortion — truly a watershed moment — in order to get their version of ObamaCare passed … in the House of Representatives, where they enjoy a 75-seat majority. In the end, they could only muster a five-vote win on Nancy Pelosi’s bill out of that strong majority. Until this week, most had assumed that any ObamaCare bill would pass the House easily, but that the fight would be in the Senate.

not an impressive victory whatsoever. With a 75 seat majority Pelosi's healthcare bill passed by a mere 2 votes. Despite her incessant chest beating (which would have made King Kong envious) that the Democrats were well prepared to loose seats in the midterm elections she capitulated and allowed some congressman vote against the bill. They abandoned their stand on abortion and with the help of 1 Republican (who will be targeted by the GOP in the mid terms) she esked out a 1 vote margin of victory. She scheduled the vote on a Saturday holding the Democratic congressmen hostage. She knew she risked the possibility of defeat if she allowed them to return to their homes before the vote. Facing an irate constituency trumps facing an irate Speaker of the House.

From Ed Morrisey
"she can’t afford to let Democrats go home to their districts before the vote. In fact, as John McCormack notes, she can’t even afford to keep her promise to have the bill on line for 72 hours before the vote so that their constituents can know what they’re doing. If they went home to face their constituents, Pelosi knows that they would never vote for her massive spending"

A 2 vote margin of victory in the House where it was expected to pass easily and with both Democratic and Republicans threatening to filibuster the bill in the Senate things look bleak for the bill as it is currently written. -

This millions of people that can't afford to see a doctor because they lack health insurance will simply vote out those that do not support this. The balance of the USA has shifted. There are more have nots then haves. We will see how many Democrats and Republicans want to remain in office.

“A democracy cannot survive as a permanent form of government. It can last only until its citizens discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority (who vote) will vote for the candidates promising the greatest benefits from the public purse, with the result that a democracy will always collapse from loose fiscal policies, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world’s greatest democratic nations has been 200 years.

NO one is 'for' abortion.

Your ilk LOVE to use that terminology. It is erroneous.
What some people ARE is pro-CHOICE. A woman has a right to determine - with her doctor(s) - her choices for her health and her body, and it is NO ONE ELSE'S BUSINESS.
Women who seek abortions will get them, in spite of people like you who want to control others' lives. Get a grip on your own life, your own faults, and your own SINS before you start telling others how to live. -
