    I'm not savvy enough, but can't you build a military net that is separate from the WWW? obviously the military would need access to the WWW but as long as none of the equipment was networked...?

      You still have to use all the existing wires for transmission etc....

      the only way to build a closed system I think is to RE wire the country for military access only and therby give no physical access to the military network....

      Just guessing....

        Yes thta is pretty much it, The military had a network back in the 70;s and 80's ARPANET but that was closed for cost and technology reasons.

          It was DARPAnet (later Arpanet) and it wasn't closed -- it developed into what's now known as the Internet. It was for defense-related research communication among Universities and defense research companies.

            there actually was a part of it still maintained and running or useable Yes the original arpanet went between 4 or 5 universities back in the 60's early 70's and that morphed into the internet we know today but a part of the original military net was still up and was closed. I think in the late 90's early 2000
