Posted By mesodude 3 weeks, 2 days ago in Political OpinionAmerican women will pay the price for the Democratic dithering that allowed Saturday's passage of the Stupak-Pitts amendment, a worm virus inserted into the House healthcare reform bill with surgical precision. But the Democratic Party will suffer collateral damage.

You don't even know what the Tea Baggers are. I think you get a kick out of saying Tea Bagger just like Beavis and Butthead would.

Your own party will implode. You put the party on the shoulders of a man who has no experience in anything. It's just a matter of time. But on the flip side, it is sad because instead of FORCING the GOP to become better, you are just allowing for Obama's faults to lead the way to a GOP victory, much like BUsh's fault let Obama in. -

With the abortion issues being such a flash point for many people it is going to cause more than just a little problem. I guess there is nothing wrong with a politician having his opinions and beliefs on certain issues but at time those opinions create a greater danger than even those who lobby. The supreme court made a decision on abortion and that is what people need to learn to live with, If one is against a specific law I have nothing against them trying to change it but I don't believe that this way is the right way to go about anything.

Does it occur to any of you that these Dem's represent districts that lean a little right of center? That the voters of these districts don't care for the GOP and it's tactics and that is why they elect moderate Dem's? If you go after these Dem's in the primaries and put up more liberal Dem's you will hand these seats to the Republicans. If you want a Republican majority then you should do just that.

"It's also evidence that on abortion the Democratic Party is now captive, just like the GOP, to Christian conservatism".
It seems that Democrat House members were so caught up in the historic nature of passing the health care reform bill that most members were oblivious to the true intent of the Stupak-Pitts amendment.
The potential of James Dobson and his Focus On The Family, along with Operation Rescue, the Christian Right Coalition, and the evangelical community could possibly celebrate an anti-abortion victory in the 21st century would regress reproductive rights back to the pre-1973 era.
Stupak-Pitts will use the Hyde Amendment as a tool to advocate extreme measures to restore a conservative Christian political state of restricting abortion rights, and forcing private insurers into constrainting coverage for abortions.
