In Obama Era, Neo-Nazis Becoming More Visible »
Posted By Tumultuous 2 weeks ago in Political OpinionJames Verini at the Daily Beast notices something we've been tracking here at Orcinus too: Neo-Nazis and far-right extremists are not only recruiting more openly, they're being much more public in their full-on expressions of racism, nativism, and xenophobia. Unlike David Duke, these characters aren't even trying to hide it:
A year after President Obama's election, hate groups are feeling bolder than they have in over a decade, and their usually insular anger is beginning to spill into the public realm. This weekend, the National Socialist Movement, a neo-Nazi organization, held rallies in Arizona and Minnesota. Those demonstrations came on the heels of similar actions in Southern California, where epithet-spewing white supremacists were forced to disband by rock-throwing counter-protesters. The upsurge in visibility is more than anecdotal—law-enforcement officials are monitoring levels of agitation among extremist groups that they say are the highest since Timothy McVeigh’s deadly attack in Oklahoma City nearly 15 years ago.
The outcries of right-wing tea-partiers, death panellers, birthers, and the like are accompanied by increased activity all along the paranoid fringe.

When I was a young teen I started drawing swastikas on some of my stuf. My mother saw them and, with an angry expresion and tears in her eyes, she sat me down and started reading from a book titled "Treblinka".

I don't think I need say more about my feelings toward nazis.
I don't think I care for any insinuation that I might be one, just because I might ask anyone coming into the USA to please go through imagration instead of just hopping the DAMNED FENCE!-

Innocent backpackers are detained indefinitely when they inadvertantly enter one country, a couple of journalists trying to get a story are detained in another, and yet people are outraged that the U.S. would like to have an orderly immigration policy followed that does not involve mass illegal immigration that overruns already stressed resources (like healthcare and education).

The U.S. learned to control its population, as did China, and that's what the countries that are producing most of the illegal immigrants need to do. If couples limited themselves to 3 children, and avoided polygamy, it would take care of itself.

After Obama's election victory in November, white supremacist online activity spiked, with people posting hundreds of messages to online forums. White supremacist groups and individuals claimed that the Obama presidency, the immigration issue, and tough economic times would serve as powerful catalysts for recruiting more people to the white supremacist movement. Jeff Schoep, head of the National Socialist Movement, the largest Neo-Nazi group in America, said interest in the NSM "has really spiked up," but would not reveal by how much. Don Black, a 55 year-old former Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard, claimed more than 2,000 people joined his website on the day after Obama's election, up from 80 on an ordinary day. Started in 1995, Black's website is one of the oldest and largest hate group sites, now claiming 110,000 members. As David Duke, a former Klan leader who was once a member of the Louisiana legislature, has said, Obama is a "visual aid" that galvanizes the white supremacist movement.

We had a far right snap under GW Bush with a Republican sweep, and now a far left snap under Obama with a Democratic sweep. I think it's a normal Hegelian dialectic: thesis, antithesis, and eventually synthesis. Power on the right galvanizes the left and vice versa.

The country has survived many extreme snaps, and synthesis eventually did occur to some extent. If we can keep the Constitution intact, the U.S. will likely right itself. It is the magic document that has kept this experiment going all these years. -

The people going to the tea party are the ones objecting to the huge Obama deficit and the huge taxes hidden in the health care bills in congress. So that makes them evil. The tax and spend Democrats are in full force wanting to create a socialist country here that will reduce peoples freedoms and tax them to poverty. That is considered evil by the radical libs.
The death panels are in full swing already. Medicare and medicaid already deny more claims than any insurance company. But libs love to ignore that fact when they rant about insurance companies. The health care bills were originally touted as going to save money. The CBO has killed that idea so the libs just ignore the FACT that the cost of insurance will skyrocket and the cost of health care will go up as well.
Then the "birthers are a splinter group that was started by the Clinton people. But libs ignore that simple fact in their rants.
When there is an obvious move by the people in power to create a Marxist (socialist) style government the opposite end fringes will gain if people who are looking for a method to fight it. It is a call to the fringe people to organize better.
To stop it just kill the health care total revamp and the "cap and trade" taxes and government takeover of health care and the taxes associated with both bills. Huge taxes that liberals just love. They ignore they take the life blood out of those who create jobs. -
