I find it impossible to excerise even moderate, as in very slow on my treadmill because of intense pain in the muscles of my legs and body. No matter what I do and how mild it is, my body is alert to anything out of the mundne therefore, fibromyalgia rules my life and not only do I wear a pain patch, I must take 'break-thru' pain meds daily.

If any of you have this problem, how do you cope with trying to have muscle tone by excercising and keeping the pain down that follows anything that is done.

I have had Fibromyalgia since the age of 41, 10 years now. I could walk 6 miles at one point and it felt great. I was on the no white diet. No white bread, potatoes, sugar, etc. I took coral calcium, B vitamins, and eat as natural and organic as I could afford. I have loss a lot of my muscle tone. Because now if I try to stretch my legs cramp up horribly. Not being able to work out can get very depressing. In the beginning pain meds helped a lot but after so many years of taking them my liver is enlarged to the point I have to be so careful about what I put into my body. Fibromyalgia has altered my life ... without my permission.

I have had fibromyalgia for over fifteen years when they did not really know about it. I find a healthy diet of high protein, low carbs and stretching helps. I also use a chiropractor who understands. It is only by the Grace of God that I can work and take care of myself but I do need to space myself. It does not have to rule your life just be annoying.

I have heard about the pain involved with this unfortunate disease. The only recommendation I can give is that if you live in a State where cannabis is legal for medicinal purposes many have said it helped abundantly. You can drink the teas as opposed to smoking it and it will relieve the pain i'm told.
If you are seeking more info e mail me at waytootalented@aol.com and i will get you what info i'm available to.

I have had fibromyalgia for 15 years. In the beginning I walked three miles, four times a week and I also swam everyday.
The swimming helped me the most as it required stretching.I also have depression with panic attacks. I take two meds for my depression and another if I feel alot of anxiety. The most difficult thing for me is trying to live on Social Security Disability. I can't keep up with my condo. It is a mess and I can't afford someone to clean my house. That depresses me even more. I don't suggest anyone using cannabis. It is a depressant and if you already have depression it will make it worse. It also stimulates the appetite and could cause weight gain. The original use for medicinal cannabis was to help cancer patients increase their appetite so they could eat and to control the nausea that frequently goes along with chemo. There are no tests to determine Fibromyalgia. The only thing the doctor has to work with is to determine how many trigger points (tender points) are located on the persons body. "Tired of being tired," Google the term Fibromyalgia and it will show you the locations on the body. Hope this helps to answer some of your questions.

I have had fibromyalgia for over 10 years and there is a way to deal with the pain without meds or losing your mind. After reading an article on the pros of a raw diet and fibromyalgia I became a vegetarian, I was amazed at the difference that it made, it took me from a 12 pain wise down to a 3. I kid you not I am not a person who is agianst meat and I do indulge in ice cream and eggs every once in a while and will have a slice of pizza. But I know that these are triggers for it. I am not a raw foodist but I eat a lot of raw veggies and fruit. I suggest you all try it for a month and see if you can tell the difference. My internist and naturopath were amazed and I am able to work out at the gym full force now. this has been the last three years and trust me when I say that it has helped me. I still have flare ups but not nearly as bad as before

The Power of Positive Thinking. Many times all it takes is trying to think positively every day.
