I love Lightfoot's music. It's always seemed a shame to me that the ones he's has the most commercial success with (this, Sundown) are not among his best. I guess my favorites are "Pride of Man" (actually Ewan MacColl's song) and "Cotton Jenny", though there are many that I like alot.

I was able to see Godon in concert in the early 1970's at the Mississippi River Festival. It was curiously uninspiring. He just didn't seem at ease with either himself or the audience. In this particular venue, I liked Gordon's countryman Ian Tyson a bit more.
