U.S. WARNS ISRAEL NOT TO HONOR ASSASSINATED AMERICAN »
Posted By avoth 1 month, 2 weeks ago in Political NewsAny commemoration in the Knesset (Israeli Parliament) of the anniversary of Rabbi Meir Kahane’s assassination would be harmful to the peace process, the American Embassy told The Jerusalem Post.
The American comments came after the Jerusalem Post obtained e-mails in which an embassy official told Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin’s office that any plans for such a ceremony was “something that Senator [George] Mitchell and his team are following with concern.”
The e-mails also implied that such a ceremony would be frowned upon by President Barack Obama who is attempting to strengthen the U.S. ties to Muslim nations.
The likelihood of such a ceremony taking place was also the subject of a flurry of internal embassy e-mails, in which US officials scrambled to find out where and when a commemoration of the assassinated far-right-wing rabbi would occur.
The American-born Kahane was murdered in New York 19 years ago by an Egyptian-American who was a member of the same al-Qaida cell that carried out the first terror attack on the World Trade Center in 1993.

"While concluding a speech in Manhattan, New York, Kahane was murdered by El Sayyid Nosair, a member of an Arab terrorist cell operating in New York in 1990."
I wonder if the authorities had paid more attention to Kahane's murder in 1990, the World Trade Center bombing in 1993 could have been avoided. We'll never know, of course.
A note to those who neg this story: I have no doubt you supported Yasir Arafat, a mass murderer and support Mahmoud Abbas, a Holocaust Denier. Consequently, your opinions on Kahane are without moral foundation.-

You automatically assume someone who disagrees with you suddenly supports Holocaust deniers? How convenient for you. That means anyone who negs you is automatically put in a pot of crazies. I should remember that ridiculous tactic.
Someone can neg your story for your being a cowardly puppet. Or they could neg it for acknowledging that honoring this assassinated person may indeed derail the peace process (though the fact that it could is sad in and of itself). There are any number of reasons someone could neg your story that have nothing to do with the Holocaust.
But I know how you like to spread lies and lump people into groups where they don't belong so you can try and marginalize them.
By the way -- how are the warlocks in your city? Still stalking you and your daddy? -

Avoth - I negged this story & I'm not a supporter of Yasir Arafat. How dare you say my opinions of that meglomaniac Kahane are without moral foundation - you madam are the epitome fanatical obsession.

DID YOU KNOW MEIR KAHANE??
WELL I DID. I knew him when he was the rabbi at the Rochdale Jewish Center in Jamaica Queens in the early 60's. Where were you? still crapping in your diapers?
I WAS at the first meeting of the JDL - where were you? He took a movement with great promise & strong moral ground & usurped it for his own racism & meglomania. Do not martyr this fascist, this traitor to our culture and to his adopted country of Israel. -

avoth...avoth..avoth............just because YOU go around dropping every article you perceive as even remotely "liberal" doesn't mean the rest of the world operates that way. I do find it amusing that ever since I called you out on your high number of drops, you've adopted this strategy of inserting "anyone who drops my article has a secret agenda" statements. I guess even though you never responded to my challenge, you can't help but show that I touched a nerve, huh?

Rabbi Kahane, who was a prominent right-wing activist for years, was elected to the Knesset in 1984, when his party, Kach, gained a lone seat. Four years later, he was ousted when Kach was declared a racist party, and its members were barred from running for Knesset.
