Even White House press secretary Robert Gibbs found the time change startling as President Barack Obama's tour of Asia got under way. As he began briefing the traveling press corps, he found he didn't really know whether to wish them a good morning, afternoon, evening or night.

    I went to Japan by way of honolulu headed to Korea.I was just barely eighteen.I stayed screwed for most of the trip.Then late one night while at the helm a quarter master on watch explained the time differential.We had already gained,or lost six hours he said before we get to our destination we would have lost a full day.Sure enough we went to bed one Friday night,and awakened the next day to find it was Friday again.The sad part is Fridays is field day aboard ship,so we two of them,But returning we had two Sundays,and I liked that.
